Equivalent geometric imperfections for the LTB‐design of members with I‐sections
Abstract For the stability assessment of members and structures according to EN 1993‐1‐1, the equivalent member method, the geometrical non‐linear calculation with equivalent geometrical imperfections or the GMNIA analysis with geometrical imperfections and residual stresses can be used alternatively.

Torsional behaviour of thin‐walled members with regular perforation systems
Abstract Thin‐walled cold‐formed (TWCF) steel members that are frequently used in steel storage rack systems generally present a monosymmetric cross‐section. The adopted design approaches derive strictly from those developed for the more traditional bisymmetric solid web members, despite i) the presence in rack components of the eccentricity between ...

Cold-formed steel joints with partial warping restraint
The article investigates the influence of joints on the warping torsion of cold-formed steel bars. The modern warping torsion theory suggests cold-formed steel bars to be simply supported or fixed at the ends.

Nonlinear Buckling Analysis of Thin‐Walled Box Beams considering Shear Lag
In this work, a general geometric nonlinear model of straight thin‐walled box beams (STBBs) under combined eccentric and axial loads is established. In order to accurately reflect the behavior of STBB, the additional shear lag warping is added to enrich the displacement field.

Bending torsion in Γ-shaped rigid and warping hinge joints
This paper investigates the effect of bending torsion which is the cross-sectional warping of thin-walled rods at plane frame joints in the framework of the “semi-shear” theory of V.I. Slivker.

In order to explore the transverse bending responses of carbon fiber‐reinforced polymer (CFRP) square tubes filled with aluminum foam, the three‐point bending tests were carried out on an INSTRON machine, the full‐field deformation measurement was performed using a 3D‐DIC test system, the numerical model was established by ABAQUS/Explicit, and the ...

Buckling of orthotropic plates with bimoments
The paper is dedicated to improvement of plate theory in order to take into account forces, moments and bimoments, generated by nonlinear law of displacement distribution in plate cross-sections.

Dynamic Analysis of Tapered Thin‐Walled Beams Using Spectral Finite Element Method
Tapered thin‐walled structures have been widely used in wind turbine and rotor blade. In this paper, a spectral finite element model is developed to investigate tapered thin‐walled beam structures, in which torsion related warping effect is included. First, a set of fully coupled governing equations are derived using Hamilton’s principle to account for

Warping Torsional and Distortional Stress of Composited Box Girder with Corrugated Steel Webs
The torsional behaviors of composite box girders with corrugated steel webs are more obvious than traditional concrete girders due to the lower torsional rigidity. In this paper, the torsion and distortion of this kind of composite girder are studied.
