Binary Mesh Partitioning for Cache-Efficient Visualization
IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 2010One important bottleneck when visualizing large data sets is the data transfer between processor and memory. Cache-aware (CA) and cache-oblivious (CO) algorithms take into consideration the memory hierarchy to design cache efficient algorithms. CO approaches have the advantage to adapt to unknown and varying memory hierarchies.

The visual binary Lambda Ophiuchi
Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1993The orbital elements of this visual binary are revised; we find a=0.91" and P=129 yr. The mass ratio measured from a 75-yr series of astrometric plates supports the spectroscopically suspected presence of a third body.

We shall be primarily interested in the orbital effects of visual binaries on the paths of the components as measured on a background of reference stars (Chapters 1 Iff).

1969Our material is a reproduction of visual observations obtained by a number of observers in the 19th and 20th century. The brightest component F is always taken as the origin; for the fainter component B the observer has measured the distance to F and the direction of FB. We only consider the relative orbit.
