Jet X-Ray Properties of EXO 1846-031 During Its 2019 Outburst

open access: yesUniverse
The Galactic X-ray transient EXO 1846-031 was first discovered during an outburst in 1985 by the EXOSAT mission. The source remained in a quiescent state for nearly 34 years after the first outburst. The source started its second outburst on 23 July 2019.

The BSN Application-I: Photometric Light Curve Solutions of Contact Binary Systems

open access: yesGalaxies
Light curve analysis of W UMa-type contact binary systems using MCMC or MC methods can be time-consuming, primarily because the repeated generation of synthetic light curves tends to be relatively slow during the fitting process.

An additional pulsating mode (7.35 mHz) and pulsations timing variations of PG 1613+426

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2017
We present the detection of an additional pulsation mode (7.35 mHz) of a subdwarf B star, PG 1613+426, and periodic Observed minus Calculated (O-C) variations for two existing pulsations. PG 1613+426 is near the hot end of the sdB instability strip.

Constraining Roche-Lobe Overflow Models Using the Hot-Subdwarf Wide Binary Population

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2017
One of the important issues regarding the final evolution of stars is the impact of binarity. A rich zoo of peculiar, evolved objects are born from the interaction between the loosely bound envelope of a giant, and the gravitational pull of a companion ...

The Identity Politics of Qualitative Research. A Discourse Analytic Inter-text

open access: yesForum: Qualitative Social Research, 2006
We intend this paper to be read as an inter-text between selected FQS articles, which in one way or another engage in the identity politics of qualitative research, and the broader discussion of quality in the social sciences. Subjecting those texts to a

Mass Transfer in Mira-Type Binaries

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2012
Detached, symbiotic binaries are generally assumed to interact via Bondi-Hoyle-Littleton (BHL) wind accretion. However, the accretion rates and outflow geometries that result from this mass-transfer mechanism cannot adequately explain the observations of

Soft X-ray Spectrum Changes over the 35-Day Cycle in Hercules X-1 Observed with AstroSat SXT

open access: yesUniverse
Observations of the X-ray binary system Her X-1 by the AstroSat Soft X-ray Telescope (SXT) were carried out in 2020 through 2023 with the goals of measuring X-ray spectrum changes with the 35-day disk precession phase and measuring eclipses at different ...

Body, identity and ideology discourse

open access: yesFluminensia: Journal for Philological Research, 2008
The paper explores ideology influence in formation of bodily mediated personal identity. The ideology discourse is being analyzed in relation towards cultural and social hegemonic praxis as a frame in which the ways of social and individual estimates of ...
