Constraining Roche-Lobe Overflow Models Using the Hot-Subdwarf Wide Binary Population
One of the important issues regarding the final evolution of stars is the impact of binarity. A rich zoo of peculiar, evolved objects are born from the interaction between the loosely bound envelope of a giant, and the gravitational pull of a companion ...

We investigate some properties of exotic spherical configurations made of dark matter and dark energy. For the former, we adopt a polytropic equation-of-state, while for the latter, we adopt the extended Chaplygin gas equation-of-state.

Mass Transfer in Mira-Type Binaries
Detached, symbiotic binaries are generally assumed to interact via Bondi-Hoyle-Littleton (BHL) wind accretion. However, the accretion rates and outflow geometries that result from this mass-transfer mechanism cannot adequately explain the observations of

Radiation Backgrounds at Cosmic Dawn: X-Rays from Compact Binaries [PDF]
We compute the expected X-ray diffuse background and radiative feedback on the intergalactic medium (IGM) from X-ray binaries prior to and during the epoch of reionization. The cosmic evolution of compact binaries is followed using a population synthesis

An additional pulsating mode (7.35 mHz) and pulsations timing variations of PG 1613+426
We present the detection of an additional pulsation mode (7.35 mHz) of a subdwarf B star, PG 1613+426, and periodic Observed minus Calculated (O-C) variations for two existing pulsations. PG 1613+426 is near the hot end of the sdB instability strip.

Under-Developed and Under-Utilized Eclipsing Binary Model Capabilities [PDF]
Existing but largely unused binary star model capabilities are examined. An easily implemented scheme is parameterization of starspot growth and decay that can stimulate work on outer convection zones and their dynamos.

Prospects for detection of detached double white dwarf binaries with Gaia, LSST and LISA [PDF]
Double white dwarf (DWD) binaries are expected to be very common in the Milky Way, but their intrinsic faintness challenges the detection of these systems. Currently, only a few tens of detached DWDs are know.

Formation of Neutral Disk-Like Zone Around the Active Hot Stars in Symbiotic Binaries
In this contribution we present the ionization structure in the enhanced wind from the hot star in symbiotic binaries during active phases. Rotation of the hot star leads to the compression of the outflowing material towards its equatorial plane.

Reality and fiction build a binary which shared the fate of dualist thinking in general in the postmodernist age, dominated by deconstruction. The climactic point was probably reached by the fabrication of lens which magnify reality.
