The binary star

open access: yesпроект байкал, 2021
Baroque and classicism were called a binary star. In the national architecture, the avant-garde and neoclassicism can be also called a binary star. The model of succession of styles in architecture does not reflect the real situation in the 1920-1950s. Neoclassicism and different movements of “contemporary architecture” run parallel to each other both ...

On Binary Sequences [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1961
The above sequences have the following interpretation [2]: the elements which are -1 are those with subscript given mod n by n=5: Mn4+3, mf O (mod5), n= 7: rm2+3, mf O (mod7), n = 11: -M2 2, (mod 11), n = 13: llm4 1, (mod 13). It will be shown here that for odd n, these are all the sequences with the property Ck I < 1. For the sake of completeness, the

Spectroscopic Monotoring of the Symbiotic Star BX Monocerotis

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2012
Low resolution optical spectra of the symbiotic star BX Monocerotis in the 3500-9000 Å range obtained during 1999–2010 are described. the spectrum of BX Mon at all phases is dominated by the cool component, with a red continuum and TiO absorption ...

A Spectroscopic Study of Field and Runaway OB Stars

open access: yes, 2006
Identifying binaries among runaway O- and B-type stars offers valuable insight into the evolution of open clusters and close binary stars. Here we present a spectroscopic investigation of 12 known or suspected binaries among field and runaway OB stars ...

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

News on the X-ray emission from hot subdwarf stars

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2017
In latest years, the high sensitivity of the instruments on-board the XMM-Newton and Chandra satellites allowed us to explore the properties of the X-ray emission from hot subdwarf stars.

Spectroscopic binaries among Hipparcos M giants III. The eccentricity-period diagram and mass-transfer signatures

open access: yes, 2009
This paper is the third one in a series devoted to studying the properties of binaries involving M giants. We use a new set of orbits to construct the first (e-logP) diagram of an extensive sample of M giant binaries, to obtain their mass-function ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Milli-arcsecond binaries [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2007
AbstractAs part of an astrometric program (see Loinard et al. in this volume), we have obtained an unprecedented sample of high-resolution (~ 1 mas) VLBA images of several nearby young stellar systems. As was to be expected, these images revealed interesting new characteristics of these objects.

Preparation and characterization of renal cell peptides from fetal rats for their antitumor activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study aimed to prepare renal cells (RCs) from fetal rats which were digested by enzymes. Candidate peptides RCPs were characterized by capillary HPLC and MS and their bioactivity was predicted using peptideranker. The predicted top 10 bioactive peptides were synthesized.
