Optimal Linear Codes and Their Hulls

open access: yesMathematics
The hull of a linear code C is the intersection of C with its dual code. The goal is to study the dimensions of the hulls of optimal binary and ternary linear codes for a given length and dimension.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Using Linear Programming to Decode Binary Linear Codes [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2005
A new method is given for performing approximate maximum-likelihood (ML) decoding of an arbitrary binary linear code based on observations received from any discrete memoryless symmetric channel. The decoding algorithm is based on a linear programming (LP) relaxation that is defined by a factor graph or parity-check representation of the code.

GEOMETRIC CONSTRUCTION CODES OF HAMMING DISTANCE-8

open access: yesElectrica, 2008
A new high rate binary linear block code construction technique, named as Geometric Construction (GC) codes, was proposed recently [1]. It generates all the even full information rate (optimal) Hamming distance – 4 codes.

Low-complexity trellis decoding of linear block codes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The authors introduce a new simple encoding technique which allows the design of a wide variety of linear block codes. They present a number of examples in which the most widely used codes (Reed-Muller, Hamming, Golay, optimum etc.) have been designed ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

UNIVERSAL GROBNER BASES FOR BINARY LINEAR CODES [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Pure and Apllied Mathematics, 2013
Each linear code can be described by a code ideal given as the sum of a toric ideal and a non-prime ideal. In this way, several concepts from the theory of toric ideals can be translated into the setting of code ideals. It will be shown that after adjusting some of these concepts, the same inclusion relationship between the set of circuits, the ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Discrete Chi-square Method for Detecting Many Signals

open access: yesThe Open Journal of Astrophysics, 2020
Unambiguous detection of signals superimposed on unknown trends is difficult for unevenly spaced data. Here, we formulate the Discrete Chi-square Method (DCM) that can determine the best model for many signals superimposed on arbitrary polynomial trends.

A Class of Binary Codes Using a Specific Automorphism Group

open access: yesMathematics
In this article, we showcase PSL(3,4) as the automorphism group for a specific class of three linear binary codes, C1, C2 and C3, with dimension 9. The demonstration involves leveraging the action of the group PSL(3,4), represented by invertible matrices
