Maximum Mass Limit of Generalized MIT Compact Star: A Theoretical Study of Thin Shell Dynamics and Gravitational Lensing

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 73, Issue 8, August 2025.
Abstract In this study, the properties, equilibrium, and stability of compact objects within the framework of teleparallel gravity with the generalized MIT bag model are investigated. By incorporating the modified field equations, the influence of the generalized bag constant on the structure and physical characteristics of quark stars and neutron ...

Properties of PSR J1023+0038 Based on Kepler, TESS, and FAST

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
The pulsar system PSR J1023+0038 is a very interesting binary with radio millisecond pulsar and low-mass X-ray binary transitions, which depend on the stellar accretion process. We have used Kepler light curves with 1 minute cadence and TESS light curves

The Major Role of Eccentricity in the Evolution of Colliding Pulsar-Stellar Winds

open access: yesUniverse, 2021
Binary systems that host a massive star and a non-accreting pulsar can be powerful non-thermal emitters. The relativistic pulsar wind and the non-relativistic stellar outflows interact along the orbit, producing ultrarelativistic particles that radiate ...

Modeling high-energy light curves of the PSR B1259-63/LS 2883 binary based on 3-D SPH simulations

open access: yes, 2012
Temporal changes of X-ray to very-high-energy gamma-ray emissions from the pulsar-Be star binary PSR B1259-63/LS 2883 are studied based on 3-D SPH simulations of pulsar wind interaction with Be-disk and wind.

Deep Space Network Radio Science and Ground‐Based Planetary Radar in the Next Decade

open access: yesRadio Science, Volume 60, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract The Deep Space Network (DSN) has been a core operational element of NASA's crewed and robotic exploration of the Solar System since the early 1960s. The primary role of the DSN has been to acquire telemetry and navigation data, but over the years, its radiometric and radar capabilities have expanded to form a system for obtaining unique ...

Eclipsing Binary Pulsars

open access: yes, 2004
The first eclipsing binary pulsar, PSR B1957+20, was discovered in 1987. Since then, 13 other eclipsing low-mass binary pulsars have been found, 12 of these are in globular clusters. In this paper we list the known eclipsing binary pulsars and their properties, with special attention to the eclipsing systems in 47 Tuc.

Constraints on Natal Pulsar Kicks from Eccentric Binary Pulsars [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1999
We investigate the expected space velocities and misalignment angles of the eccentric binary pulsars for a range of possible progenitor systems and natal kick models. In particular, the effect of the orbital separation at the instant of supernova is discussed.

Probing the millisecond pulsar origin of the γ-ray excess in the Galactic centre with LISA

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
The gigaelectronvolt γ-ray excess observed towards the Galactic centre remains unexplained. While dark matter annihilation has long been considered a leading explanation, an alternative scenario involving a large population of millisecond pulsars remains

Radio pulsar binaries in globular clusters: their orbital eccentricities and stellar interactions

open access: yes, 2009
High sensitivity searches of globular clusters (GC) for radio pulsars by improved pulsar search algorithms and sustained pulsar timing observations have so far yielded some 140 pulsars in more than two dozen GCs.

Broad-band observations of the Be/X-ray binary pulsar RX J0440.9+4431: discovery of a cyclotron absorption line [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We report the results of an analysis of data obtained with the International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory (INTEGRAL), Swift and Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer (RXTE) observatories during the 2010 April and September outbursts of the X-ray pulsar RX ...
