The Longitudinal Relationship Between Pain and Depression in People with Inflammatory Arthritis: a Narrative Review

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
As many patients with inflammatory arthritis (IA) have chronic pain, understanding how to best assess and manage pain in IA is a priority. Co‐morbid depression is prevalent in adults with IA, affecting 15 to 39% of people. Whilst pain and depression are thought to be associated in IA, this concept is largely based on cross‐sectional data.

A Novel Digitalization Approach for Smart Materials – Ontology‐Based Access to Data and Models

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In order to access heterogeneous material data and model‐based knowledge, the established ontology‐based data access (OBDA) is extended to include material models. This novel ontology‐based data and model access (OBDMA) enables the computation of new responses beyond stored data.

Observing Binaries [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Binary stars are dynamical systems formed by two stars that are physically bound by the gravitational force. Binary stars are privileged laboratories, allowing one to measure the fundamental properties of stars but also potentially changing the way stars live and die. Because of this, binary stars have continuously played a central role in astrophysics.

Bridging Nature and Technology: A Perspective on Role of Machine Learning in Bioinspired Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Machine learning (ML) is revolutionizing the development of bioinspired ceramics. This article investigates how ML can be used to design new ceramic materials with exceptional performance, inspired by the structures found in nature. The research highlights how ML can predict material properties, optimize designs, and create advanced models to unlock a ...

The X-Ray Emission Reveals the Coronal Activities of Semi-detached Binaries

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
X-ray emission is an important tracer of stellar magnetic activity. We carried out a systematic correlation analysis for the X-ray luminosity $\mathrm{log}{L}_{{\rm{X}}}$ , bolometric luminosity $\mathrm{log}{L}_{\mathrm{bol}}$ , and X-ray activity ...

Visual binary stars: data to investigate formation of binaries [PDF]

open access: yesBaltic astronomy (2016), Vol. 25, pp. 419-426, 2017
Statistics of orbital parameters of binary stars as well as statistics of their physical characteristics bear traces of star formation history. However, statistical investigations of binaries are complicated by lacking or incomplete observational data and by a number of observational selection effects.

Automated Workflow for Phase‐Field Simulations: Unveiling the Impact of Heat‐Treatment Parameters on Bainitic Microstructure in Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, OpenPhase software is used to simulate low‐carbon bainitic steels. The lower holding temperature sample exhibits smaller and finer grains. Grain thickness measurements of bainitic ferrite from simulations align with the experimental observations at high temperature. Bainitic steels are extensively utilized across various sectors, such as
