Controlled carbonization of an Al‐MOF partially decomposes its linkers, exposing coordinatively unsaturated Al centers within an oxide/carbon composite. The resulting Lewis acid sites, rather than surface area, govern organochlorine capture: the composite removes chemically diverse organochlorines from waste plastic pyrolysis oil, outperforms a ...

Accurate modeling of ligand-binding-site structures plays a critical role in structure-based virtual screening. However, the structures of the ligand-binding site in most predicted protein models are generally of low quality and need refinements. In this

Combining field‐effect surface passivation of a narrow‐bandgap tin–lead perovskite by diammonium ions with introducing oleyl‐based amphiphiles to create insulating interface layers between the absorber and the adjacent hole and electron transporting layers increases the open‐circuit voltage to 91.5% of the detailed‐balance limit and enhances the power ...

A generative model for constructing nucleic acid sequences binding to a protein
Background Interactions between protein and nucleic acid molecules are essential to a variety of cellular processes. A large amount of interaction data generated by high-throughput technologies have triggered the development of several computational ...

Contributions of ubiquitin- and PCNA-binding domains to the activity of Polymerase η in Saccharomyces cerevisiae [PDF]
Bypassing of DNA lesions by damage-tolerant DNA polymerases depends on the interaction of these enzymes with the monoubiquitylated form of the replicative clamp protein, PCNA.

Configuration‐Encoded Cell Alignment by Light‐Gated Silicon Photovoltaic Microcell Arrays
Light‐gated silicon photovoltaic microcells convert pulsed illumination into localized electrical cues. Arranging otherwise similar microcells into four‐lobed, six‐lobed, or circular patterns directs fibroblasts into corresponding local arrangements without wired stimulation.

Quantum binding energies in the Skyrme model
A major problem in the Skyrme model is that the binding energy of skyrmions, which model nuclei, is too high by an order of magnitude. We show that the most popular solution to this problem, to construct models with zero classical binding energy, still ...

The hepta-β-glucoside elicitor-binding proteins from legumes represent a putative receptor family [PDF]
The ability of legumes to recognize and respond to β-glucan elicitors by synthesizing phytoalexins is consistent with the existence of a membrane-bound β-glucan-binding site.

Tantalum–Palladium Ultrathin Resistance Hydrogen Sensor
Nanoconfined Ta‐alloy thin films enable fast, reversible hydrogen sensing by suppressing unwanted phase transitions. A Ta0.88${\rm Ta}_{0.88}$Pd0.12${\rm Pd}_{0.12}$ sensing layer delivers hysteresis‐free detection from ppb to 100% H2${\rm H}_2$ at room temperature.

Neuromorphic plasticity in OECTs is governed by the post‐stimulus evolution of coupled ionic and electronic states. Semiconductor chemistry and morphology, electrolyte composition and interfaces, and device architecture regulate ion injection, transport, confinement, and release, shifting responses from rapidly relaxing STP to metastable memory and ...
