Case Report: Cervical approach for dual mediastinal ectopic thyroid: clinical utility of 3D imaging in surgical planning

open access: yesFrontiers in Surgery
We report an exceptionally rare case of synchronous dual ectopic thyroid tissue (ETT) located in both the anterior and posterior mediastinum of a 54-year-old woman presenting with a symptomatic multinodular goiter and early-stage primary ...

Liquid‐Responsive Shape‐Memory Nanofiber‐Reinforced Scaffolds for Cartilage Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A liquid‐responsive shape‐memory, nanofiber‐reinforced QCG scaffold combines conformal defect filling, an aligned architecture that is structurally permissive for endogenous cell infiltration, and sustained KGN release. This integrated design enhances BMSC viability, migratory activity, and chondrogenic differentiation and promotes hyaline cartilage ...

Deriving the Distribution and Exploring the Utility of Partial $$R^2$$ R 2 in the Era of Big Data

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA)
A central goal in the world of statistics and data science is the construction of linear regression models for continuous variables of interest. Often, our objective is to examine the impact of one or more explanatory variables, after adjusting for ...

Integrated Multi‐Omics Reveals Cellular States and Microenvironmental Remodeling in Coexisting DCIS and IDC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Coexisting DCIS and IDC samples are profiled using spatial transcriptomics, single‐cell RNA sequencing, and single‐cell DNA sequencing. Integrative multi‐omics analysis reveals distinct malignant epithelial and microenvironmental features between DCIS and IDC, which are further validated using Xenium and multiplex immunohistochemistry.

Evaluating the role of binge planning and binge inevitability within affect regulation models of binge eating

open access: yesAppetite
Affect regulation models posit that aversive affective states drive binge-eating behavior, which then regulates negative emotions. However, recent findings among individuals with binge-eating disorder (BED) suggest that food-related anticipatory processes may precede and potentially explain the negative affect thought to drive binge eating ...

Hydrogel Phase Transition‐Driven Soft Gating Circumvents Debye Screening for Advanced Biosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A 3D soft gate utilizes a macroscopic hydrogel phase transition to effectively circumvent Debye screening in high‐salt environments. The intact matrix maximizes transmembrane ion flux via volumetric Donnan enrichment and superhydrophilicity. Target‐triggered network disassembly abolishes these effects, introducing a synergistic physical barrier.
