Audio‐guided exercise at home: Preliminary findings from a pilot study on physical activity for people with low vision

open access: yesPM&R, EarlyView.
Abstract Background: Individuals with severe visual impairments frequently refrain from regular physical activity due to multiple barriers, including transportation difficulties, financial constraints, and limited availability of exercise programs tailored to their needs. These factors often contribute to a gradual decline in mobility and independence.

Binocular vision and fixational eye movements.

open access: yesJournal of Vision, 2019
The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between binocular vision and fixation stability (FS). Across three experiments, we investigated (a) whether fixation was more stable during binocular versus monocular viewing across a range of stimulus

Outcomes in Orbit‐Sparing Versus Orbit‐Sacrificing Surgery for Sinonasal Malignancies With Orbital Involvement: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sinonasal malignancies with orbital involvement may be managed with orbit‐sacrificing or orbit‐preserving surgical approaches, with a recent shift towards orbital preservation to reduce postoperative morbidity while maintaining oncological success.

Effects of Progressive Additional Lenses on Binocular Vision in Children with Pseudophakia

open access: yesCase Reports in Ophthalmology, 2018
Binocular vision may be compromised in children after unilateral cataract surgery because the distances at which clear vision is present are different for the two eyes.

Cretaceous lacewing larvae with binocular vision demonstrate the convergent evolution of sophisticated simple eyes

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
We report three ca. 100 million‐year‐old lacewing larvae with extraordinarily large stemmata. One of them additionally has a very wide head, which represents a previously unknown morphology. The arrangement of the stemmata indicates stereoscopic vision in these predatory larvae.

Distance Measurement System Based on Binocular Stereo Vision

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environment, 2019
Binocular stereo vision uses two cameras of the same specification instead of human eyes for measurement and judgment. The basic principle of binocular vision ranging is to simultaneously capture the image of the measured object by using two left and ...

Peering into the world of wild passerines with 3D‐SOCS: Synchronized video capture and posture estimation

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, EarlyView.
Abstract Collection of large behavioural data‐sets on wild animals in natural habitats is vital in ecology and evolution studies. Recent progress in machine learning and computer vision, combined with inexpensive microcomputers, has unlocked a new frontier of fine‐scale markerless measurements.

Underwater Target Detection and 3D Reconstruction System Based on Binocular Vision

open access: yesItalian National Conference on Sensors, 2018
To better solve the problem of target detection in marine environment and to deal with the difficulty of 3D reconstruction of underwater target, a binocular vision-based underwater target detection and 3D reconstruction system is proposed in this paper ...
