Color polymorphism in Anemone coronaria: Correlations with soil, climate, and flowering phenology

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Flower color polymorphism (FCP) is thought to be driven by multiple selection agents. Although widely associated with visual attraction of multiple pollinators, FCP is also often correlated with abiotic factors. We explored the links between abiotic conditions, flowering phenology, and FCP in the winter‐flowering geophyte Anemone ...

On the calculation of generalized binomial coefficients

open access: yesJournal of Multivariate Analysis, 1974
AbstractThe generalized binomial coefficients (κλ) are defined by Cλ(Im + R)Cλ(Im) = Σk=0lΣκ(λκ)Cκ(R)Cκ(Im), where the Ck(R) are the zonal polynomials of the m × m matrix R. In this paper some simple expressions are derived which allow straightforward calculation of a large number of these coefficients.

Fires in rainforests: Quantifying litter bed flammability of cool temperate rainforests in eastern Australia

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Rainforests are usually too wet to burn, acting as natural barriers to fire spread and as refuges for biodiversity. However, climate change is increasing the risk of fire incursion into rainforests. Our capacity to manage these impacts is hindered by limited research on rainforest flammability.

Note on the binomial partial difference equation

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2015
Some formulas for the "general solution" to the binomial partial difference equation $$c_{m,n}=c_{m-1,n}+c_{m-1,n-1},$$ are known in the literature. However, it seems that there is no such a formula on the most natural domain connected to the equation ...

Health behaviours and affective states of partners of fly‐in fly‐out workers: A daily diary study

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
Abstract Partners of fly‐in fly‐out (FIFO) workers face increases in demands, for instance in care and family responsibilities, particularly in the absence of workers; however, little is known about how their daily life experiences influence their health across the FIFO work cycle.

Reduction of the sum of the weighted equal powers to explicit combinatorial representation

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2012
The paper contains the proof of the statement that the component of the sum of weighted powers with natural bases and equal parameters, dependent on weight coefficients, is equal to the sum of products of binomial and weight coefficients.

Infinite series involving harmonic numbers and reciprocal of binomial coefficients

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
Yamamoto's integral was the integral associated with 2-posets, which was first introduced by Yamamoto. In this paper, we obtained the values of infinite series involving harmonic numbers and reciprocal of binomial coefficients by using some techniques of

Generating Functions for New Families of Combinatorial Numbers and Polynomials: Approach to Poisson–Charlier Polynomials and Probability Distribution Function

open access: yesAxioms, 2019
The aim of this paper is to construct generating functions for new families of combinatorial numbers and polynomials. By using these generating functions with their functional and differential equations, we not only investigate properties of these new ...

Construction and Analysis of Binomial Coefficients

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2022
This paper discusses the construction and analysis of the binomial coefficients for combinatorial geometric series. The coefficient for each term in combinatorial geometric series refers to a binomial coefficient. These ideas can enable the scientific researchers to solve the real life problems.
