Excess Movement in Option‐Implied Beliefs

open access: yesThe Journal of Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We derive bounds on the rational variation in option‐implied beliefs about market returns. While risk preferences distort option‐implied (or risk‐neutral) beliefs away from subjective beliefs, one can nonetheless bound risk‐neutral belief movement under a general assumption on the stochastic discount factor.

When indemnity insurance fails: Parametric coverage under binding budget and risk constraints

open access: yesJournal of Risk and Insurance, EarlyView.
Abstract In high‐risk environments, traditional indemnity insurance is often unaffordable or ineffective, despite its well‐known optimality under expected utility. We compare excess‐of‐loss indemnity insurance with parametric insurance within a common mean‐variance framework, allowing for fixed costs, heterogeneous premium loadings, and binding budget ...

Provenance and environment jointly shape early regeneration in fir and beech: evidence from distributed participatory trials across Europe

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Location of fir (Abies) and beech (Fagus) seed provenances and the experimental field sites called micro‐gardens. Summary Forest regeneration is shaped by strong demographic filters during germination and early establishment, yet the relative contributions of seed provenance and environment remain poorly understood under natural conditions. We combined

Disruption of Fatty Acid Desaturase Gene Alters Aphid Resistance and Volatile Emissions in Sorghum

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Jasmonic acid (JA)‐deficient msd3 sorghum mutants exhibit contrasting resistance phenotypes against sugarcane aphids (SCA; Melanaphis sacchari), which promotes aphid settling at early time points while providing antibiosis‐mediated resistance at later stages. Here we investigated the physiological, hormonal, and metabolic mechanisms underlying

Newly recorded psychiatric diagnoses among 21 million youth before, during, and after COVID‐19 restrictions: A nationwide interrupted time‐series analysis

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, EarlyView.
Aim The COVID‐19 pandemic had substantial effects on youth mental health. Most previous studies focused on the initial pandemic years, leaving the post‐restriction period underexplored. We examined trajectories of newly recorded psychiatric diagnoses among Japanese youths across two policy shifts: March 2020 school closures and May 2023 ...
