Unbiased Tandem System for Simultaneous Methane and Glycerol Upgrading to Formic Acid Under Ambient Conditions

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A bias‐free photovoltaic‐photoelectrochemical tandem system enables simultaneous methane and glycerol upgrading to formic acid under ambient conditions. The cathode generates hydrogen peroxide for methane oxidation, while the photoanode efficiently oxidizes glycerol.

Foamed Concrete Sealing Materials for Coal Seam Gas Drainage Boreholes: A Review

open access: yesSafety Science and Technology, EarlyView.
This study investigates the sealing performance of foamed concrete in gas drainage boreholes. By comparing leakage pathways (a, c) with sealed systems (b, d), the research demonstrates how foamed concrete effectively fills mining‐induced fractures and resists deformation.

Using Visual Systems Mapping to Improve Transparency and Comparability of Life Cycle Assessment Baseline Scenarios

open access: yesSystems Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Visual systems mapping is a systems engineering approach used to represent complex processes and interactions. This study evaluates its application for documenting assumptions in life cycle assessment (LCA) baseline scenarios. In LCA, the baseline or reference case represents the business as usual system against which changes in impacts (e.g.,

Methane in deep sea hydrothermal plumes. Development of a new in-situ methane sensing technology

open access: yes, 2008
Information on the concentration and distribution of dissolved methane (CH4), together with other geochemical tracers, in real time is of great value in detecting, monitoring, and understanding the functioning of hydrothermal plumes.

Heterologous expression and site-directed mutagenesis of soluble methane monoxygenase [PDF]

open access: yes
The purpose of this investigation was to study the heterologous expression of soluble methane monooxygenase (sMMO) genes from Methylococcus capsulatus (Bath) and Methylosinus trichosporium OB3b.

Influence of Dissolved Oxygen on the Gassing Tendency of Biodegradable Insulating Liquids Under Thermal and Electrical Faults

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Dissolved gas analysis (DGA), widely used for fault diagnosis, can be significantly influenced by the presence of oxygen. Oxygen not only accelerates fluid degradation but also alters the type and concentration of fault gases generated, potentially leading to misinterpretation of transformer conditions if conventional DGA models are applied ...

Kaempferol Protects Intestinal Health in Chinese Forest Musk Deer Possibly by Regulating Intestinal Microbiota and Inhibiting the NF‐κB/NLRP3 Signaling Pathway

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Kaempferol modulates the tryptophan metabolism pathway by increasing the abundances of Christensenellaceae R7 group, Bacteroides, and Blautia and reducing that of Rikenellaceae RC9 gut group, thereby significantly increasing the levels of ILA and IAA. This process inhibits the activation of NF‐κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway, reduces pro‐inflammatory factor

Phenotypic characterization of Arabidopsis thaliana mutants that alleviate root growth defects in a vitamin B6 biosynthesis mutant

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Vitamin B6 is a critical molecule for plant metabolism and development. Rsr4‐1, a loss‐of‐function mutant in a vitamin B6 biosynthesis gene, has a distinct short root phenotype. Here we describe five novel suppressor mutants with an rsr4‐1 background that have normalized root growth and distinct phenotypic and molecular characteristics, representing a ...
