Latest advances and challenges in carbon capture using bio-based sorbents: A state-of-the-art review
Effective decarbonisation is key to ensuring the temperature rise does not exceed the 2 °C set by the Paris accords. Adsorption is identified as a key technology for post-combustion carbon capture. This rise in prominence of such processes is owed to the

ABSTRACT The presence of antibiotics in water not only causes environmental pollution but also increases the growth of antibiotic‐resistant bacterial genes, which pose serious threats to human beings and other water residents. Large numbers of people are reportedly affected by the resistant bacterial genes, as many broad‐spectrum antibiotics are not ...

The abstract explains the impact of various concentrations of chitosan on PBAT composite. Indeed, the composite is produced at increasing concentrations of chitosan (10%, 20%, and 30%). The decrease in the tensile strength with increased conc. of chitosan was recorded. Furthermore, the same impact was recorded for TGA analysis.

Removal of U(VI) from Nuclear Waste Solutions by Bio-sorbents
Abstract Six bio-sorbents were used to remove uranium from simulated radioactive solutions UO 2 (NO 3 ) 2 . Three types of peats, Polytrichium moss, Eichhornia crassipes water plant and Cladonia stellaris lichen were used. About 2.7mg of uranium per 1g of sorbent was found in the peat samples after their interaction with UO 2 (NO 3 ) 2 ...

Chlorella vulgaris biorefineries: sustainable biofuels and high‐value carbon capture
Abstract Global reliance on fossil fuels has created urgent economic and environmental challenges, yet large‐scale use of algal biomass remains limited by production costs. Industrial scaling is constrained by inefficient harvesting and the technical challenges of processing recalcitrant cell walls.

Abstract Post‐harvest agricultural residues in Latin America are commonly underutilized, leading to greenhouse gas emissions and lost opportunities for bio‐based value creation. This study tests the hypothesis that decentralized, farmer‐scale pyrolysis technologies can deliver comparable agronomic benefits while exhibiting distinct techno‐economic and ...
