Herbivory‐Induced Stomatal Opening Triggers the Dispersal of an Invasive Insect Herbivore

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The invasive leafminer Phthorimaea absoluta uniquely manipulates plant defenses by inducing stomatal opening in tomato. This response, mediated by the stomatal regulator IQM1, enhances the release of the repellent volatile benzaldehyde. This volatile triggers the dispersal of adult moths, facilitates colonization of new hosts, and leads to rapid ...

Using UPLC–MS/MS to Evaluate the Dissemination of Pyriproxyfen by Aedes Mosquitoes to Combat Cryptic Larval Habitats after Source Reduction in Kaohsiung in Southern Taiwan

open access: yesInsects, 2020
The policy regarding mosquito control strategies in Taiwan is based on integrated vector management (IVM). The major approach is source reduction via collaboration by both residents and governments.

An Effector TaCRVP From Tuta Absoluta Oral Secretion Impairs H2O2‐Mediated Plant Defense by Targeting Tomato SlCAT2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Tuta absoluta salivary effector TaCRVP subverts tomato immunity by hijacking host catalase SlCAT2. Through a sophisticated dual mechanism, TaCRVP simultaneously promotes SlCAT2 tetramerization for activation and blocks its SlAdBiL‐mediated degradation for stabilization.

The microimmersion bioassay: a novel method for measuring acaricidal activity and for characterising pesticide resistance in spider mites

open access: yes, 1992
A novel and versatile method is described for measuring the contact activity of acaricides against spider mites. The microimmersion (MI) bioassay involves drawing batches of 25 mites into small pipette tips under vacuum, immersing them for 30 s in 35 mul

Delay of Cucumber Senescence and Life‐Extending Capabilities on Caenorhabditis elegans With the Postharvest Application of Sorbitol and Methyl Salicylate

open access: yesAgriFood: Journal of Agricultural Products for Food, EarlyView.
Methyl salicylate and sorbitol were taken as coating agents. Caenorhabditis elegans was taken as an animal model. The coated agents were applied in C. elegans. The life span study in C. elegans proves the authenticity of MS and SL. MS and SL extended the post‐harvest life of cucumber for 14 days.

Bioassay-guided isolation and characterisation of α-glucosidase inhibitors from Sanghuangporus baumii

open access: yes
Bioassay-guided fractionation of the isopropanol extract of the medicinal mushroom Sanghuangporus baumii led to the isolation and characterisation of a new acorane-type sesquiterpenoid bauminene (1) and seven known compounds 2–8.

Segmented Therapeutic Delivery via Acoustic Microbubble Relay

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An acoustically driven, modular segmented delivery system is presented to overcome mechanical limitations of conventional microcatheters. Oscillating microbubbles generate directional streaming that enables continuous, targeted transport across open, angled segments.
