Use of Microbial Biofilms to Assess Groundwater Quality in Karstic Ecosystems
Environmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 2, February 2026.Analyses of prokaryotic diversity and community structures of biofilms showed variations linked to the nutrient and organic matter conditions in the studied karstic stations. Biofilms developed on artificial substrates appeared as promising indicators to assess groundwater quality in karst.
