Assessment of human bioclimate based on thermal response
International Journal of Biometeorology, 1985To assess the thermal component of human climate, the adequacy of two body-environment energy balance models is tested. Requirements are that these models should include the full range of atmospheric variables using a system which embraces both the attributes of those exposed and the functional attributes of the environment.

Thermal bioclimate in Strasbourg - the 2003 heat wave
Theoretical and Applied Climatology, 2009This case study highlights the implications of the 2003 heat wave for the city of Strasbourg, France. The urban centers of France and other European countries were particularly affected by the heat wave. In some urban areas, the mortality rate was 60% above the expected value (Institute de Veille Sanitaire, 2003).

Observations on the Bioclimate of Some Taiga Mammals
ARCTIC, 1957Reports a study at Fairbanks, Alaska, 1954-56, on the thermal environment of the moss-covered forest floor, the habitat mainly of red-backed voles, shrews, weasels, and red squirrels. Thermistors recorded temperatures at the surface, 6 ft above, and 3, 6, and 9 in below.

Bioclimates of the world related to air enthalpy
International Journal of Biometeorology, 1968Maps showing the distribution of thermal sensations and bioclimatic regions over the earth in relation to human comfort are presented. This classification is based on the isolines of mean air enthalpy for January and July and on Brazol's sensation scale representing climatic types.

Bioclimate and city planning – open space planning
Atmospheric Environment, 1999The planning and using of open spaces in urban areas very much depend on the shading of the surrounding building structures. This article presents a method for the investigation of the sunlight and the bioclimatic conditions in dependence on the surrounding buildings.

The Bioclimates of India in Relation to the Vegetational Criteria
NelumboThe purpose of a climatic classification is to characterise the climatic regions in terms of meteorological elements like temperature and precipitation which are the most decisive factors in determining the landscape of the earth. The plant-climate relation is so close that it is possible to differentiate the types of climates such as equatorial ...

A New Map of Morocco Bioclimates
2014The climate is one of the main factors influencing soil and vegetation degradation; his characteristics are evaluated by using the parameters that affect the availability of water rainfall, temperature, insolation and wind. Studies on the characterization of climate are needed to assess the constraints of different types of weather in terms of water ...
