Ultrafine Friction Grinding of Lignin for Development of Starch Biocomposite Films [PDF]
The work demonstrates the utilization of fractionalized lignin from the black liquor of soda pulping for the development of starch-lignin biocomposites. The effect of ultrafine friction grinding on lignin particle size and properties of the biocomposites was investigated.

Virus-Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) Biocomposite Films [PDF]
Virus-poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (virus-PEDOT) biocomposite films are prepared by electropolymerizing 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) in aqueous electrolytes containing 12 mM LiClO(4) and the bacteriophage M13. The concentration of virus in these solutions, [virus](soln), is varied from 3 to 15 nM.

Cellulose nanocrystal/amino-aldehyde biocomposite films [PDF]
From the suspensions of cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) derived from cotton and flax by acidic hydrolysis, transparent and smooth films were produced with different plasticizers and an amino-aldehyde based cross-linking agent in a wide composition range by a simultaneous casting and wet cross-linking process.

A Novel Method for Preparation of Carrageenan/Fish Scale Collagen/Allopurinol Biocomposite Film
Biopolymers such as carrageenan or collagen can be used as carriers for loading a drug to enhance a drug’s bioavailability. In this work, allopurinol was loaded on a carrageenan/collagen blend and the carrageenan/collagen/allopurinol (CCA) biocomposite ...
