An efficient and sustainable biodiesel production in a mechanochemical pilot reactor under heterogeneous catalysis [PDF]
Fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) produced from vegetable oils or animal fats by transesterification, or from the esterification of fatty acids, with methanol, is labeled as ‘‘Biodiesel”.

ZnO/ionic liquid catalyzed biodiesel production from renewable and waste lipids as feedstocks [PDF]
A new protocol for biodiesel production is proposed, based on a binary ZnO/TBAI (TBAI = tetrabutylammonium iodide) catalytic system. Zinc oxide acts as a heterogeneous, bifunctional Lewis acid/base catalyst, while TBAI plays the role of phase transfer ...

Glycerol Carbonate from Dimethyl Carbonate and Glycerol Over TBD‐Functionalized SBA‐16
The transesterification reaction of glycerol with dimethyl carbonate (DMC) is an attractive path for glycerol carbonate production. A heterogeneous solid base catalyst was developed, combining strong basicity with high surface area and structural stability. Glycerol conversion reached 97% with a high glycerol carbonate yield.

Hungary’s Biofuel Market [PDF]
In 2005 the Hungarian Exise Tax Act was amended regarding the sale of biofuels. The amendment stipulated that from July 1, 2007 fuels with a 4.4 volume percentage bioethanol content will be sold in Hungary. It equally stipulated that from January 1, 2008

Sorption‐enhanced reverse water–gas shift (SERWGS) enables efficient CO2‐to‐CO conversion. The developed catalyst (15Cu‐7.5 Zn/FANa‐H) significantly improves CO2 conversion to CO, exceeding the thermodynamic equilibrium limit and demonstrating its potential for intensified syngas production through in situ adsorption of water using a hydrophilic ...
