Photoelectrochemical‐Unassisted Glycerol Oxidation Coupled with CO2 Reduction to Value‐Added Chemicals

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 17, Issue 23, December 8, 2025.
A flow photoelectrochemical electrolyser, assembled with an FTO|BiVO4 photoanode and a Nifoam|Cu2O/CuO/TiO2 photocathode, presents a spontaneous short‐circuit photocurrent under solar‐simulated irradiation and, while produces formate from glycerol oxidation on the anodic compartment, reduces carbon dioxide into ethanol on the photocathode.
