Performance–Emission Trade‐Offs in RCCI Engines Using High‐Viscosity Alcohol–Diesel Blends Under Variable Injection Pressures

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2026.
Blending high‐viscosity 2‐Methyl‐1‐butanol with diesel in an RCCI engine enhanced thermal efficiency and significantly reduced NOx and smoke emissions. The D70MB30 blend at 800 bar injection pressure achieved the best performance–emission trade‐off, supporting cleaner and more sustainable combustion.
