Lipase‐Mediated Synthesis of Biodiesel Using Blended Alcohol in a Packed‐Bed Reactor System
ABSTRACT The use of lipases in biodiesel production has gained attention as a more sustainable and efficient alternative to chemical catalysts, attributed to their operational reusability and minimal environmental impact. As an innovative approach in this study, a blended alcohol composed of 20 mol% methanol and 80 mol% 1‐butanol was employed as the ...

ABSTRACT A novel, efficient, and eco‐friendly sustainable process has been developed for the extraction of cellulose nanofibers (CNF) from durian rinds. The method utilizes low‐molecular‐weight 2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpiperidine‐1‐oxyl (TEMPO) as an oxidation agent, in conjunction with sonication treatment, resulting in a significant reduction of processing

Biodiesel production from energy tobacco
The production of biodiesel from energy tobacco as an alternative fuel source is discussed herein. Biodiesel was obtained through the transesterification of tobacco seed oil using CH3ONa as an alkaline catalyst. Full factorial design was used in these studies to determine the best operating conditions.

Ensiling and Fermentation of Rice Hulls With Ruminal Fluid for Medium‐Chain Carboxylate Production
ABSTRACT Large quantities of rice hulls are common at milling sites in Nigeria. They are a by‐product of rice processing and can contribute to environmental degradation if not properly managed. In this study, rice hulls were pretreated by ensiling at ambient temperature and then used as substrate for medium‐chain carboxylates (MCCs) production ...
