Highly Sensitive Measurement of Bio-Electric Potentials by Boron-Doped Diamond (BDD) Electrodes for Plant Monitoring

open access: yesSensors, 2015
We describe a sensitive plant monitoring system by the detection of the bioelectric potentials in plants with boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes. For sensor electrodes, we used commercially available BDD, Ag, and Pt plate electrodes.

Research of photoinduced potentials of pepper leaves [PDF]

open access: yesVìsnik Dnìpropetrovsʹkogo Unìversitetu: Serìâ Bìologìâ, Ekologìâ, 2015
Bioelectrical potentials of the plants during photostimulation with various intensity values and wave lengths are studied. Suchstimulation provides light-dependent reactions of photosynthesis.

Bioelectric Membrane Potential and Breast Cancer: Advances in Neuroreceptor Pharmacology for Targeted Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesReceptors
Bioelectric membrane potentials regulate cellular growth, differentiation, and movement. Disruptions in bioelectric signaling are strongly linked to cancer development, as abnormal membrane potentials and ion channel activity can drive tumor progression.

Bioelectric Fields at the Beginnings of Life [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The consensus on the origins of life is that it involved organization of prebiotic chemicals according to the underlying principles of thermodynamics to dissipate energy derived from photochemical and/or geochemical sources.

Hypothesis for the mechanism of action of ECAP-controlled closed-loop systems for spinal cord stimulation

open access: yesHealthcare Technology Letters, 2020
Advances in technology and improvement of efficacy for many neuromodulation applications have been achieved without understanding the relationship between the stimulation parameters and the neural activity which is generated in the nervous system.

Flexible Boron-Doped Diamond (BDD) Electrodes for Plant Monitoring

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Detecting the bio-potential changes of plants would be useful for monitoring their growth and health in the field. A sensitive plant monitoring system with flexible boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes prepared from BDD powder and resin (Nafion or Vylon ...

Astroglial Isopotentiality and Calcium-Associated Biomagnetic Field Effects on Cortical Neuronal Coupling

open access: yesCells, 2020
Synaptic neurotransmission is necessary but does not sufficiently explain superior cognitive faculties. Growing evidence has shown that neuron−astroglial chemical crosstalk plays a critical role in the processing of information, computation, and ...
