Effectiveness of tele‐guidance for physiotherapy in older patients with type 2 diabetes: A randomized controlled trial

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Comparison of clinical indices before and after intervention in both groups. ABSTRACT Aims/Introduction Whether regular intervention via modern communication tools is effective in older patients with type 2 diabetes is unclear. We aimed to determine the effects of tele‐guidance for physiotherapy on muscle strength in such patients.

The cholesterol‐HDL‐glucose (CHG) index and traditional adiposity markers in predicting diabetic retinopathy and nephropathy

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
This study explores the association of visceral adiposity index (VAI) and lipid accumulation product (LAP), markers of visceral adiposity, with diabetic nephropathy and retinopathy. The findings revealed that VAI and LAP values were significantly elevated in diabetic nephropathy but showed no significant association with diabetic retinopathy.

Lean body mass index and the risk of diabetes onset: A nationwide epidemiological cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
This large‐scale cohort study examined the association between lean body mass index (LBMI) and diabetes risk in over 1.3 million adults. Individuals with lower LBMI had a significantly higher risk of developing diabetes, as shown by Cox regression and restricted cubic spline analyses.

Discrepancies Between Recommendations in Evidence‐Based Guidelines for the Management of Obesity in Adolescents and Adults: An Evidence Map

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Aim The aim of this evidence map is to provide a systematic overview of evidence‐based guidelines for the management of obesity and to highlight discrepancies between recommendations for the pediatric and adult populations. Knowing about these discrepancies may be relevant during the transition from pediatrics to adult healthcare to
