AbstractEnergy from biomass plays a large and growing role in the global energy system. Energy from biomass can make significant contributions to reducing carbon emissions, especially from difficult‐to‐decarbonize sectors like aviation, heavy transport, and manufacturing. But land‐intensive bioenergy often entails substantial carbon emissions from land‐

Halophytes As Bioenergy Crops [PDF]
Shrinking arable land due to soil salinization and, depleting fresh water resources pose serious worldwide constraints to crop productivity. A vision of using plant feedstock for biofuel production can only be realized if we can identify alternate species that can be grown on saline soils and therefore, would not compete for the resources required for ...

Bioenergy and Biomass Utilization [PDF]
Bioenergy is of increasing interest as a renewable, environmentally friendly alternative to energy derived from fossil fuels. Through a variety of processes, biomass can be converted to solid, liquid, or gaseous biofuels. However, various challenges persist to the maintenance and development of biomass-to-energy utilization.

Appropriate butylene oxide (BO) functionalization of amines (polyethyleneimine (PEI1200 and PEI300) and tris(2‐aminoethyl)amine (TREN)) enables excellent cyclic working capacities (WCcyclic) at low desorption temperatures (40−70°C). Notably, 0.30BO‐PEI300‐SY and 0.54BO‐TREN‐SY show the highest WCcyclic at 45 and 40°C, respectively.

Hydrophobicity Modulated Interfacial Water Distribution for Enhanced Kinetics of HER
In electrocatalysis, hydrophilic structures improve interfacial water management by forming a continuous, compact water film that facilitates proton/hydrogen transport, thereby lowering the effective adsorption free energy of H*. By contrast, hydrophobic structures enable rapid gas transport and promote the capture and local enrichment of gaseous ...
