Biological Availability of Commercial Feed Phosphates

open access: hybridPoultry Science, 1974
Abstract Nine feed grade phosphates were assayed for biological availability to chicks using tibia bone ash as the criterion of availability and phosphoric acid as the reference standard. “Dicalcium phosphates” containing 21% phosphorus were equally available regardless of manufacturer.

Biological Availability of Manganese Sources and Effects of High Dietary Manganese on Tissue Mineral Composition of Broiler-Type Chicks [PDF]

open access: hybridPoultry Science, 1984
An experiment was conducted with male broiler-type chicks to study tissue uptake of Mn as a measure of biological availability of Mn sources. A basal corn-soybean meal diet (116 ppm Mn) was supplemented with 0, 1000, 2000, or 4000 ppm Mn as either ...

Glycosylation is a major regulator of phenylpropanoid availability and biological activity in plants

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
The phenylpropanoid pathway in plants is responsible for the biosynthesis of a huge amount of secondary metabolites derived from phenylalanine and tyrosine. Both flavonoids and lignins are synthesized at the end of this very diverse metabolic pathway, as

Biological Availability of Selenodicysteine in Chicks

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1983
The biological availability of selenium (Se) in selenodicysteine (SDC) for chicks was evaluated using plasma glutathione peroxidase (SeGSHpx) activity and tissue Se levels as criteria. In each of two trials day-old Single Comb White Leghorn chicks were fed a basal diet low in Se but supplemented with vitamin E during Days 1 to 14.

Aerobic and anaerobic incubation: Biological indexes of soil nitrogen availability [PDF]

open access: diamondZbornik Matice Srpske za Prirodne Nauke, 2005
Our researches have been made on brown forest soil that had been used in long-term experiments set up according to specified fertilization system for over 30 years. We have chosen those experiment variants in which quantities of nitrogen fertilizers were
