Biological characteristics of mouse skin melanocytes
Tissue and Cell, 2016The objective of this research was to evaluate the optimal passage number according to the biological characteristics of mouse skin melanocytes from different passages. Skin punch biopsies harvested from the dorsal region of 2-day old mice were used to establish melanocyte cultures.

Biological Characteristics of Sludge
1983Much research has been conducted recently on cellular physics concerning metabolic activities of cells. Since sludge is composed primarily of mixed cultures of microorganisms, the cellular physiology and mechanisms utilized by typical cells should be examined in order to determine their effect during the wastewater treatment processes.

Characteristics of Biological Networks
2004Network principles describe uniformly systems as diverse as the cell or the Internet. The emergence of these networks is driven by self-organizing processes that are governed by simple but generic laws. While unraveling the complex and interwoven systems of different interacting units, it has become clear that the topology of networks of different ...

Biological characteristics ofSalmonella weltevreden typing phages
Folia Microbiologica, 1984The important biological characteristics of Salmonella weltevreden (3, 10 : r :Z6) typing phages were studied. On the basis of these, the phages could be classified into three groups: phages phi I and phi II, phages phi III, phi IV and phi VI, and phage phi V.

Characteristics and Biological Functions of TRAF6
2007TRAF6 is divergent from other members of the TRAF family. Therefore, TRAF6 was expected to play physiological roles distinct from those of other TRAFs. In this chapter, we focused on the physiological functions specific to TRAF6 but not other TRAFs in immune system, formation of skin appendices, and nervous system development by describing abnormal ...

Biological Characteristics of Meiofauna
1993The heterogeneity of meiofauna biotopes outlined above explains why there are only few morphological adaptations of general validity for the diverse meiofauna. It is in the interstitial system of medium and coarse sands that the mesopsammic fauna displays the most clearly adaptive features related to this peculiar environment. The formative constraints

[Various biological characteristics of Sindbis virus].
Giornale di batteriologia, virologia ed immunologia, 1983The hemagglutinating activity of Sindbis virus on untreated or tripsinized blood red cells of some animal species was assessed. In some cases tripsinization increases the red cell sensitivity to viral hemagglutinin. Interferon (IFN) production induced by Sindbis virus on human WISH, mouse L-929 and chicken FEP cells was similar in all three cases.

Biological characteristics modulating investor overconfidence [PDF]
Applying a standard questionnaire (Lichtenstein and Fischhoff 1977) to a sample of 44 professional investors, we sought for explicit correlations between selected biological characteristics of the investors and the cognitive bias known as overconfidence. We found that both male and female investors showed overconfidence above the subjective probability

Biologic Cardiac Assist: Performance Characteristics
1989Currently, the patient with end-stage heart failure has few therapeutic options. These include cardiac transplantation, mechanical assist devices, and medical therapy only. Despite recent advances in all types of treatment, ideal therapy for the patient with a failing heart has yet to be offered. Such an option should provide independence from external
