BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF AN ANTIBODY TO RELAXIN
Journal of Endocrinology, 1966SUMMARY An antibody to relaxin that combined with the hormone in immunodiffusion and haemagglutination tests was produced in rabbits. The antibody quantitatively inhibited the interpubic ligament-response to relaxin in oestrogen-primed immature female mice and partially inhibited the separation of the pubic bones at the symphysis pubis in the ...

Biological characteristics of rubella virus
Archiv fr die gesamte Virusforschung, 1965A virus, recognized by its ability to interfere in GMK cultures with the CPE of E-11 virus, was recovered from patients with rubella. This virus differed from other human viruses in both biologic and serologic characteristics, and appears on the basis of these combined laboratory and epidemiologic observations to be the etiologic agent of rubella.

Characteristics and Biological Functions of TRAF6
2007TRAF6 is divergent from other members of the TRAF family. Therefore, TRAF6 was expected to play physiological roles distinct from those of other TRAFs. In this chapter, we focused on the physiological functions specific to TRAF6 but not other TRAFs in immune system, formation of skin appendices, and nervous system development by describing abnormal ...

Cytokines: Molecular and Biological Characteristics
Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, 1988Cytokines are soluble molecules with many cells as the source of their origin and as targets for their actions. They are pleiotropic in their biological functions. Some cytokines are distinct with respect to their molecular structure yet they have overlapping biological properties (Interleukin 1 and tumor necrosis factors).

Biological Characteristics of Colicine X
Nature, 1961THE name colicine X was given1 to a colicine produced by the strain of Escherichia coli used industrially by Hageda, AG., Berlin-Koln, for the preparation of the emulsion ‘Mutaflor’. This colicine can be distinguished from other types of colicines by the following characteristics :

Biologic characteristics of premalignant breast disease [PDF]
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women in the United States. While mammography and breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) improve detection of early disease, there remains an unmet need for biomarkers for risk stratification, early detection, prediction, and disease prognosis. A number of early breast lesions, from atypical

Hydraulic characteristics of biological filters
Journal of Chemical Technology & Biotechnology, 1991AbstractRelationships between the removal efficiency and the hydraulic regimes of trickling filters were investigated. At low flow rates, where break‐up of liquid jets occurs and drops form, completely mixed conditions prevail. For large hydraulic loadings effluent concentrations were calculated by means of a dispersed plug flow model.

Biological Characteristics of MSCs
2009Recent advancements in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine have highlighted MSCs as a potential source of cells which would differentiate to a variety of tissue tailored to individual needs. This chapter briefly outlines the current status of MSCs, focusing on their biological characteristics and potential for clinical applications.
