Detection of Peroxynitrite in Biological Fluids

2003
Peroxynitrite (ONOO(-)) is both an oxidant and a nitrating agent (1-3). However, unlike other strong oxidants, peroxynitrite reacts selectively with biological targets. This selectivity is derived in part from the different second-order rate constants (vary from 10(3)-10(6) M (-1) s(-1)) by which ONOO(-) reacts with biological targets.

Assay of hydroxyfarrerol in biological fluids

Journal of Chromatography A, 1990
A high-performance liquid chromatographic method for the determination of hydroxyfarrerol (IdB 1031) in biological samples was developed. IdB 1031 was first extracted by liquid-solid partition and the extracts were evaporated and analysed on a reversed-phase column under isocratic conditions, using either an electrochemical or a UV detector.

Analyzing Hyaluronidases in Biological Fluids

2019
Hyaluronidases are a group of enzymes responsible for the degradation of hyaluronan. They seem to be associated with a plethora of pathological conditions, as it has been showcased by numerous studies over the past years. The emerging role of hyaluronidases in various pathological states, especially cancer, is of a great interest.

Estimation of decamethonium in biological fluids

Experientia, 1961

Measurement of peptidoleukotrienes in biological fluids

Journal of Applied Physiology, 1990
Samples of human bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and urine were utilized to demonstrate methods for quantitation and validation of leukotrienes (LTs). These methods utilize an enzyme immunoassay (EIA) that uses commercially available reagents, the antibody recognizing LTC4, LTD4, LTE4, and N-acetyl LTE4. BALF containing epithelial lining fluid was

Measuring MIF in Biological Fluids

2019
MIF is a key regulator of host immune responses and increased levels secreted from cells, or found circulating systemically, have been implicated in the pathogenesis of many inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. Here, we describe methods for detecting and quantifying extracellular concentrations of MIF in both human- and murine-derived biological ...

Measurement of dimethylglycine in biological fluids

Analytical Biochemistry, 1985
The method of quantitating N,N-dimethylglycine involves cation-exchange high-performance liquid chromatography and detection of dimethylglycine with dimethylglycine dehydrogenase. Dimethylglycine was added to plasma and urine and samples were assayed for dimethylglycine.

Measurement of Glucocorticoids in Biological Fluids

2013
Liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) is rapidly becoming the method or choice for measuring glucocorticoids due to significant interferences in traditional immunoassays by structurally related endogenous and exogenous steroids. The technique also lends itself to the measurement of more than one analyte during an analytical run ...

Measurement of Glucocorticoids in Biological Fluids

2006
The background to the physiological production of glucocorticoids is described as well as their concentrations in some biological fluids. Detailed methods are described for the collection, storage, and preparation of samples and for the immunoassay techniques for some common steroids in serum, urine, and saliva.
