BZW1 Drives Immune Evasion in Lung Adenocarcinoma via Ferroptosis Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BZW1 attenuates ferroptosis by competitively binding NCOA4 and suppress ferrtinophagy‐mediated iron release. The depletion of BZW1 triggers lipid peroxidation through iron homeostasis. Extracellularly, BZW1 attenuates immunogenic cell death and reinvigorates cytotoxic T‐cell responses.

CircRSU1 Activates the hnRNPA1/HIF‐1α/CD24 Signaling Axis, Promoting Stemness Features of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals circRSU1 with important oncogenic roles in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). CircRSU1, highly abundant in HCC, interacts with and stabilizes hnRNPA1 from ubiquitination and degradation. This stabilization facilitates hnRNPA1 binding to the internal ribosome entry site of HIF1A to increase HIF‐1α protein translation.

[The biological specimen bank: methodological and organizational problems].

open access: yesAnnali dell'Istituto superiore di sanita, 1993
Little experience is available to solve methodological and organizational problems when setting up a biological specimen bank as a support to prospective studies on chronic diseases. Sample aliquots preparation, processing procedures and storage system are discussed in the present paper. Problems related to the quality of biological material stored, as

Evolutionary associations between sand seatrout (Cynoscion arenarius) and silver seatrout (C. nothus) inferred from morphological characters, mitochondrial DNA, and microsatellite markers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The evolutionary associations between closely related fish species, both contemporary and historical, are frequently assessed by using molecular markers, such as microsatellites.

Recommendations for collaborative paediatric research including biobanking in Europe: a Single Hub and Access point for paediatric Rheumatology in Europe (SHARE) initiative [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Innovative research in childhood rheumatic diseases mandates international collaborations. However, researchers struggle with significant regulatory heterogeneity; an enabling European Union (EU)-wide framework is missing.

GPX4 Inhibitor Resistance and Metastatic Features in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes breast cancer cell lines that are resistant to glutathione peroxidase 4 inhibitors (GPX4i) in vitro and investigates the metastatic capacity of the GPX4i‐resistant versus parental lines in vivo. GPX4i‐resistant cells survive upon intravenous injection, but lose capacity to spontaneously metastasize.

Deciphering the Impact of RAC1‐SPTAN1 in ARPKD Cystogenesis Using Multifaceted Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Distal/connecting tubules expressing SLC8A1 have been suggested as a potential origin of ARPKD cysts. SPTAN1 has been identified as a key molecule in ARPKD cyst formation. Restoring SPTAN1 in PKHD1−/− organoids reduced cyst formation, normalized calcium levels, and decreased RAC1/c‐FOS expression, highlighting SPTAN1's role in ARPKD and the potential ...
