Transport of biologically active material in laser cutting
Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, 1988AbstractThe transport of biologically active material during laser cutting with CO2 and Er lasers is demonstrated. This transport mechanism removes particles from the surface of gelatin, agar, and liver samples into the depth of the laser‐formed craters. The transport phenomenon is explained by a contraction and condensation of enclosed hot water vapor.

Biology of the Cell, 1997Previous studies suggest that oligodeoxynucleotide (ODN) cellular uptake is cell cycle‐dependent which may have important implications in cancer cell targeting. To further our understanding of ODN transport and activity, this study examines the relationships between the cell cycle, ODN cellular uptake, intracellular transport, and activity.

The theory of transport phenomena in biological membranes. II. The active transport of ions
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1970Abstract A model is suggested coupling the processes of the passive and active transport of the Na + and K + in biological membranes. It is shown that the mechanism of active transport has features common to the mechanism of passive transport. However, it differs in the driving force maintaining the directed flow of ions.
