Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

On the proper treatment of pathologies in biomedical ontologies [PDF]
In previous work on biomedical ontologies we showed how the provision of formal definitions for relations such as is_a and part_of can support new types of auto-mated reasoning about biomedical phenomena.

Ontological interpretation of biomedical database content [PDF]
Biological databases store data about laboratory experiments, together with semantic annotations, in order to support data aggregation and retrieval. The exact meaning of such annotations in the context of a database record is often ambiguous. We address this problem by grounding implicit and explicit database content in a formal-ontological framework ...

Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Application and Role of Ontologies in Biomedical Information Retrieval Systems
Introduction: Ontologies improve the quality of information retrieval (IR). Therefore, it is important to better know the process of ontology engineering and their application in IR.

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Biomedical ontologies encapsulate the vast knowledge within the medical domain, facilitating communication and data exchange. However, the heterogeneity of these ontologies often impedes knowledge exchange, especially in large-scale biomedical ontologies.

Modulated evaluation metrics for drug-based ontologies
Background Research for ontology evaluation is scarce. If biomedical ontological datasets and knowledgebases are to be widely used, there needs to be quality control and evaluation for the content and structure of the ontology.
