Rezafungin Utilisation in Real Life—FungiScope Results From Europe and the United States
ABSTRACT Background Rezafungin, a novel echinocandin with once‐weekly intravenous dosing, offers potential advantages for outpatient parenteral antifungal therapy (OPAT) in invasive candidiasis (IC). While clinical trial data support its efficacy and safety, real‐world experience remains limited.

Chronic kidney disease and valvular heart disease: State of the art
Abstract Chronic kidney disease (CKD) and valvular heart disease (VHD) frequently coexist and are associated with a significant increase in morbidity and mortality. Their interplay is complex and multifactorial, involving shared pathophysiological mechanisms such as chronic inflammation, mineral and bone disorder, vascular and valvular calcification ...

ABSTRACT Valve‐in‐valve (ViV) Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has emerged as a valid treatment option in symptomatic patients with failed aortic bioprosthetic valves, most especially in those with intermediate, high or prohibitive risk of surgery. Due to the unique design of stentless bioprosthetic valves with absence of visible posts and

Early calcific degeneration of the St. Jude Medical Epic aortic bioprosthesis
This report highlights the need for close surveillance of bioprosthetic valves. Unaccountable degeneration of bioprosthetic valves can develop early after implantation and usually requires replacing the failed valve with a mechanical prosthesis.

Bioprosthetic Aortic Valve Degeneration: a Review from a Basic Science Perspective
Introduction: The increase in the prevalence of aortic stenosis due to an aging population has led to an increasing number of surgical aortic valve replacements.

ABSTRACT Background Data comparing clinical and hemodynamic outcomes of bioprosthetic valve fracturing (BVF) and “standard”‐postdilatation during valve‐in‐valve transcatheter heart valve implantation (ViV‐TAVI) are lacking. The authors aimed to analyze hemodynamic and clinical outcomes of BVF compared to “standard”‐postdilatation during ViV‐TAVI ...

Abdominal wall repair with acellular bovine pericardial membranes - Part I - Clinical and radiological findings [PDF]
Introduction: Reducing recurrence rates significantly, the use of biomaterials as “reinforcement meshes” in the repair of different abdominal wall defects has become an almost mandatory routine for the success of these repairs.

ABSTRACT Background Little is known about the clinical and hemodynamic outcome of valve‐in‐valve transcatheter aortic valve replacement (ViV‐TAVR) for failed Trifecta surgical aortic bioprotheses. Aims We aimed to compare outcomes of valve‐in‐valve transcatheter aortic valve replacement (ViV‐TAVR into failed TrifectaTM vs.
