Dynamic Microfluidic Synthesis of Zinc Oxide Nanowires: Impact of Channel Architecture on Growth Homogeneity and Uniformity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
In situ synthesis of nanomaterials within microfluidic reactors in dynamic mode boosts the growth rate. Notably, microfluidic reactors with optimized tree‐branched microchannel networks enable outstanding homogeneity of 99% and excellent nanowires uniformity.

A Systematic Study of Staphylococcus aureus Biofilm Formation on Thiol‐Ene Polymers: Toward the Development of Microfluidic Bacterial Biofilm Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This work presents a systematic characterization of an emerging polymer platform, off‐stoichiometry thiol‐ene, in terms of its ability to support the formation, growth, and metabolic activity of Staphylococcus aureus biofilms. The findings indicate that thiol‐enes promote S.

Multiplexed Bio‐detection on an Interferometric Optical Waveguide Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Multiplexed remote bio‐detection is demonstrated through an image conduit composed of 3012 individual cores and coated with interferometric layers. The proof of concept of biodetection is performed through the kinetic monitoring of two complementary DNA strands hybridization paving the way for applications in multiplex in situ biosensing, and ...

Hybrid Microfluidic Chip Design with Two‐Photon Polymerized Protein‐Based Hydrogel Microstructures for Single Cell Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A versatile method is presented to integrate complex microstructures from protein‐based hydrogel in microfluidic channels with two‐photon laser writing. This approach is used to perform flow experiments with cells through microgaps and fibrous meshes with different properties.
