Structural characterization of newt tendon regeneration after complete transection: In vivo two‐photon imaging and transmission electron microscopy

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 248, Issue 3, Page 383-394, March 2026.
The present study characterized newt digital flexor tendon regeneration structurally at both micro‐ and nanoscales following complete transection and suggested that the mechanism of tissue regeneration differs between the early phase (until 6 weeks) and the late phase (after 6 weeks). Tendon stubs remained separated for up to 2 weeks after transection,

Laminin 332 regulates glial fibrillary acidic protein expression and astrocyte maturation during spinal cord development

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 248, Issue 3, Page 478-489, March 2026.
Laminin 332 localizes to marginal zone of spinal cord on embryonic days 12 and 14 and acts through integrin pathways for astrocyte maturation. The present research suggested that laminin 332 may play an important role in the development of the white matter of the spinal cord.

A novel single‐cell NAD‐ME C4 subtype integrated with CAM and bicarbonate use in an aquatic plant

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 5, Page 2386-2401, March 2026.
Summary Many plants maximize photosynthesis by using a CO2‐concentrating mechanism (CCM). Based on physiology, the freshwater plant Ottelia alismoides has three CCMs: C4 metabolism (NAD‐malic enzyme (NAD‐ME) subtype) and bicarbonate‐use during the day plus crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM) at night and lacks Kranz anatomy. Here, we combined a range of

CD44‐Binding Peptide‐Functionalized Antibiofouling Polymer Surface for High‐Performance Separation of Human Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 3, 12 February 2026.
A peptide‐functionalized zwitterionic polymer enables label‐free and noninvasive isolation of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs). The antifouling polymer surface selectively captured hMSCs based on CD44 recognition, achieving high‐purity separation while preserving cell viability and differentiation potential for safe cell transplantation ...

Microstructural Evolution and Mechanical Performance of Plasma‐Assisted Hybrid Friction Stir Welded Dissimilar Aluminum–Copper Joints

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 3, 4 February 2026.
Plasma‐assisted hybrid friction stir welding of dissimilar AlCu joints employs localized plasma preheating to balance heat input and enhance plastic flow. The optimized process reduces axial force by up to 35%, refines the microstructure, and achieves ≈96% joint efficiency.
