The biotite-prehnite association

Lithos, 1975
Abstract Prehnite interleaved with biotite in altered diorite from S.E. Queensland and elsewhere has a lens-shaped form which bows the enclosing mica cleavages. Despite the first description of the texture in 1918 and identification of the prehnite in 1936 only a few references to the intergrowth can be found. Genetic considerations usually involve K

Dosimetric feature of natural biotite mineral

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2014
A thermoluminescence (TL) study relevant to radiation dosimetry has been carried out for X-ray irradiated biotite mineral under un-annealed and different annealed (473, 573, 673 and 773 K) conditions. Some significant variations in dosimetric characteristics have been observed with annealing treatment.

Crystal chemistry of igneous rock biotites

Mineralogy and Petrology, 1987
A study of 304 selected biotite analyses, with 17 chemical variables (AlIV, FeIV, AlVI FeVI, Mg, Mn, Ti, Li, Na, K, Rb, Ca, Ba, OH, F, Cl,Θ), was carried out using variation diagrams and statistical methods. It was our aim to verify the existence of characteristic variation patterns in the crystal chemistry of igneous biotites related to the geological

Potash Fertilizer from Biotite

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1997
A process was developed for the utilization of biotite mica, as a source of potassium, for the production of potassium chloride. The investigation was done in two stages.

Ludlovian Biotite-Bearing Bands

Geological Magazine, 1960
AbstractAllogenic biotite flakes, together with fish and conodont remains, are concentrated into bands at particular horizons within Upper Ludlovian rocks of Woolhope and other Welsh Borderland areas; and are present but more scattered within the Aymestry Limestone and Dayia Beds.
