Compositions of plagioclase‐melt pairs are commonly used to constrain temperatures (T), dissolved water contents (H2O) and pressures (P) of pre‐eruptive magma storage and transport.

Variation of plagioclase shape with size in intermediate magmas: a window into incipient plagioclase crystallisation [PDF]
AbstractVolcanic rocks commonly display complex textures acquired both in the magma reservoir and during ascent to the surface. While variations in mineral compositions, sizes and number densities are routinely analysed to reconstruct pre-eruptive magmatic histories, crystal shapes are often assumed to be constant, despite experimental evidence for the

CRYSTALLIZATION CONDITIONS OF PLAGIOCLASE IN VOLCANIC COMPLEXES OF SULAWESI ISLAND, PACIFIC OCEAN [PDF]
Mineralogical and thermobarogeochemical studies allowed us to reveal the crystallization conditions of plagioclase in volcanic complexes of Sulawesi Island (Pacific Ocean).

Hydrogen incorporation in plagioclase [PDF]
We conducted experiments at high pressure (P) and temperature (T) to measure hydrogen solubility in plagioclase (Pl) with a range of compositions (An15 to An94). Experiments were run at 700-850 °C, 0.5 GPa, and f O 2 close to either the Ni-NiO (NNO) or iron-wüstite (IW) oxygen buffers.

Micro-Textural Controls on Magma Rheology and Vulcanian Explosion Cyclicity
Understanding the relationship between degassing, crystallization processes and eruption style is a central goal in volcanology, in particular how these processes modulate the magnitude and timing of cyclical Vulcanian explosions in intermediate magmas ...

The Polumir granite: Addititional data on its origin [PDF]
The Polumir granite is exposed on several localities due to erosion, and its chemical and mineral composition is presented in this paper. It is built of K-feldspar, plagioclase, myrmekite, metasomatic albite, biotite, muscovite and quartz, while apatite,
