Mineral Component Part of Litters in the Bog Birch Forests: Storage Conditions and Relationship with Stand Productivity [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал Сибирского федерального университета: Серия Биология, 2010
Strongly decomposed, moderately decomposed, rhizomatous, peaty, peat and рeatified litters develop on the gradient from tall-grass to sphagnum-litter (dead ground cover) birch forest types, objectively related to certain forest biotopes. Litter thickness

Periodic Biotope spaces

open access: yesMohyla Mathematical Journal, 2018
Summary: Biotope spaces were introduced by \textit{E. Marczewski} and \textit{H. Steinhaus} [Colloq. Math. 6, 319--327 (1958; Zbl 0089.03502)] for the needs of mathematical biology, namely the study of ecosystems. Biotope distance is defined on the set of all subsets of some finite set \(X\). The distance between any subsets \(A_1\) and \(A_2\) of \(X\)

Origin, evolution and biogeographic dynamics of the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) in Southwestern Europe

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The Pleistocene is a key period for understanding the evolutionary history and palaeobiogeography of the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). The species was first documented in southeastern Iberia at the beginning of the Middle Pleistocene and appears to have rapidly spread throughout Southwestern Europe, where it was found in numerous ...

Raman Line Scan Analyses and a New Hypothesis for the Formation of Anatase‐Hosting Microbialites: Study of the Stromatolites From Saint‐Jean‐de‐la‐Rivière, Cotentin, France

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Micrometer analysis of millimeter lines of Raman spectra concludes in the association of anatase and graphitized organic matter (graphogen). The photosynthetic microorganisms at the origin of the microbialites produce O2, which is transformed by TiO2 into reactive species that, in turn, decompose the organic matter of the microorganisms. ABSTRACT Raman
