Biocatalytic characterization of an alcohol dehydrogenase variant deduced from Lactobacillus kefir in asymmetric hydrogen transfer

open access: yesCommunications Chemistry, 2023
Hydrogen transfer biocatalysts to prepare optically pure alcohols are in need, especially when it comes to sterically demanding ketones, whereof the bioreduced products are either essential precursors of pharmaceutically relevant compounds or constitute ...

Production of enantiomerically pure (S)-phenyl(pyridin-2-yl)methanol with Lactobacillus paracasei BD101

open access: yes, 2019
Asymmetric reduction studies of heteroaryl ketones, including phenyl(pyridin-2-yl)methanone in enantioselective form with biocatalysts are very few, and chiral heteroaryl alcohols have been synthesized generally in the small scale.
