Biotribological Behavior of Boronized Tungsten

World Tribology Congress III, Volume 2, 2005
Boronized tungsten is one of the potential biomaterials due to its high corrosion resistance, and high strength. Present investigation encompasses the wear behavior of this material in dry condition as well as in simulated body fluid (SBF). The pin-on-disc reciprocating tribometer was utilized to conduct the wear tests.

Biotribology and Human Tribology

2013
In biotribology and human tribology, tribological theories are applied to biological systems and human interactions, respectively. This chapter focuses on the human tribology fields, slip and fall accidents and hand-object interaction, and the biotribology fields, ocular and oral tribology. Slip and fall accidents are caused by low friction between the

Introduction to biotribology: Animal locomotion

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part J: Journal of Engineering Tribology, 2006
Limbs of vertebrate animals have synovial joints. Many arthropod joints and the hinges of bivalve molluscs owe their mobility to components that bend, rather than to surfaces that slide over each other. No lubrication systems have been described for the few sliding surfaces in invertebrate joints.
