Electrolyte-Stimulated Biphasic Dissolution Profile and Stability Enhancement for Tablets Containing Drug-Polyelectrolyte Complexes

Pharmaceutical Research, 2012
Recently introduced drug-polyelectrolyte complexes prepared by hot-melt extrusion should be processed to solid dosage forms with tailor-made release properties. Their potential of stability enhancement should be investigated.Milled hot-melt extruded naproxen-EUDRAGIT® E PO polyelectrolyte complexes were subsequently processed to double-layer tablets ...

New biphasic system in side-by-side chambers for testing drug dissolution and permeation in vitro (BiDP system)

Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology, 2021
Abstract This study aims to develop a new in vitro system for evaluating oral absorbability of drugs or drug candidates from solid, especially of poorly water-soluble compounds. The system, named Biphasic Dissolution and Permeation system (BiDP system), was designed based on previously developed in vitro systems for improving their throughput and the

Dissolution/precipitation behavior of biphasic calcium phosphate ceramics in bone-forming culture conditions

2003 IEEE 29th Annual Proceedings of Bioengineering Conference, 2003
Mesenchymal stem cells in combination with biphasic calcium phosphate ceramics, hydryoxyapatite/tricalcium phosphate ceramics, have been shown to induce bone formation in large, long bone defects. Gaining an understanding of the factors that may influence stem cell differentiation on these ceramics is important for developing improved scaffold ...

Preparation, characterization and in vitro dissolution behavior of porous biphasic α/β-tricalcium phosphate bioceramics

Materials Science and Engineering: C, 2016
The ideal bone tissue engineering scaffolds are long-cherished with the properties of interconnected macroporous structures, adjustable degradation and excellent biocompatibility. Here, a series of porous α/β-tricalcium phosphate (α/β-TCP) biphasic bioceramics with different phase ratios of α-TCP and β-TCP were successfully synthesized by heating an ...

Preparation of Bimodal Porous Biphasic Calcium Phosphate Ceramics and Their Dissolution Behavior in Simulated Body Fluid

Advanced Materials Research, 2006
Biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) ceramics, a mixture of hydroxyapatite (HAp) and beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP), of varying HAp/β-TCP ratios were prepared from fine powders. Porous BCP ceramic materials with HAp/β-TCP weight rations of 20/80, 40/60, and 80/20 were prepared.

Developing Quantitative In Vitro–In Vivo Correlation for Fenofibrate Immediate-Release Formulations With the Biphasic Dissolution-Partition Test Method

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2018
This study is to evaluate 3 fenofibrate (FEN) formulations including Fournier® 200 mg capsule, Lipidil® 145 mg tablet, and a clinical HME 160 mg tablet by an in vitro biphasic method. Key experimental parameters were evaluated including the selection of biorelevant media, the United States Pharmacopeia IV flow rate, and the United States Pharmacopeia ...

The Dissolution Behavior of Ibuprofen and Griseofulvin in Bicarbonate Buffer Compared to Phosphate Buffer Using Intrinsic Dissolution Rate and Biphasic Dissolution

2018
In the small intestine, bicarbonate is the main buffering system to adjust the pH after the gastric emptying to pH 5.5-6.8. Bicarbonate gathered some attention to be used as a dissolution media to better mimic the in-vivo environment. However, in vitro the evaporation of CO2(g) interferes with the in vivo observed neutralization process.

Acidic–neutral decoupled biphasic electrolytes enhance deposition–dissolution chemistry in Zn–Mn batteries

Journal of Materials Chemistry A
An aqueous–organic biphasic electrolyte was designed for a high-voltage Zn–Mn battery, exhibiting Mn2+/MnO2 redox chemistry in the acidic aqueous phase and stable Zn plating/stripping in the neutral organic phase.

Development and validation of an in vitro dissolution method for a floating dosage form with biphasic release characteristics

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 1995
Abstract The present study describes the development of a dissolution method for a floating dosage form using HALOTM-propranolol capsules containing propranolol base dissolved in oleic acid. A modified paddle dissolution method in which the paddle blades were set to the surface of the dissolution medium was shown to be effective for assessing HALOTM ...
