A model for bipolar charge transport in insulators

Proceedings of 1995 IEEE 5th International Conference on Conduction and Breakdown in Solid Dielectrics, 2002
Failure of electrical cable insulation is still a major problem for the electricity generation and supply industries. Under high field conditions (>10/sup 8/ Vm/sup -1/), space charge and the concomitant electric field dynamics are involved in the initiation of dielectric breakdown.

A simple hole scattering length model for the solution of charge transport in bipolar transistors

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1999
Considering the small warping parabolic heavy hole model with the quasi-elastic approximation in acoustic phonon scattering, it is shown that the hole scattering length is independent of the hole energy. This result now makes it possible to solve the Boltzmann transport equation to obtain a simple analytical solution for the ballistic hole transport in

Modeling effect of ferroelectric nanofiller size on bipolar charge transport in nanocomposite film

Journal of Polymer Science Part B: Polymer Physics, 2015
Bipolar charge injection and field-dependent mobility transport through nanocomposite film comprised of ferroelectric ceramic nanofillers in an amorphous polymer matrix is simulated using a 3D particle-in-cell model which extends the classical electrical double layer by substitution of a dipolar core for the nanofiller.

Applicability analysis of the prevailing algorithms for reliable solution of the bipolar charge transport model

Physica Scripta, 2019
Abstract For space charge simulation inside the insulating materials as to characterize the dielectric performance, apart from accuracy of the equivalent physical and mathematical models themselves, corresponding algorithms to be adopted are also crucial for a reliable solution.

Description of bipolar charge transport in polyethylene using a fluid model with a constant mobility: model prediction

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2003
We present a conduction model aimed at describing bipolar transport and space charge phenomena in low density polyethylene under dc stress. In the first part we recall the basic requirements for the description of charge transport and charge storage in disordered media with emphasis on the case of polyethylene.

Bipolar Charge Transport Model Optimized to Simulate the Space Charge Build-Up Within the Bi-Dielectric System

Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Materials, 2018
In this paper, finite element method correlated with boundary conditions has been used to solve the Poisson’s equation. Splitting method, solving the continuity equation in two-time step, with and without term source associated with new Schottky injection application, however, Runge–Kutta method with a Gaussian filter calculated the distribution of all

Bipolar charge transport, injection, and trapping studies in a model green-emitting polyfluorene copolymer

Journal of Applied Physics, 2005
Experimental studies of charge injection and transport of holes and electrons in LUMATION™ Green 1300 Series light-emitting polymer (LEP) by a combination of experimental techniques are reported. It is found that hole mobility is lower than electron mobility and the former exhibits steeper electric-field dependence thus reducing the misbalance between ...

Numerical resolution of charge transport in cross-linked polyethylene by means of a bipolar model with a distribution of traps

Proceedings of the 2004 IEEE International Conference on Solid Dielectrics, 2004. ICSD 2004., 2004
We present a bipolar model of conduction providing time-dependent solutions for charge densities under uniform DC field. The model assumes the existence of an exponential distribution of trap depth for electrons and holes, with an upper limit in trap depth. Charges are supplied through Schottky injection at both electrodes.

Simulation of Interface Charge Behaviors in HVDC Cable Accessory Based on Bipolar Carrier Transportation Model

2018 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Dielectrics (ICD), 2018
HVDC extruded cable is the key equipment of flexible DC transmission technology. However, the interface charge between different dielectrics is easy to accumulate in the HVDC cable accessories due to the discontinuity of conductivity and permittivity, which will threaten the safety of the HVDC cable system. The injection and transportation behaviors of

Bipolar Charge Transport Model with Trapping and Recombination: An Analyze of the Current vs. Applied Electric Field Characteristic

2007 IEEE International Conference on Solid Dielectrics, 2007
A bipolar model of transport intended to describe the behaviour of polyethylene in steady state is presented. The model is based on Poisson's equation and the conservation law of charges, trapping, detrapping and recombination phenomena being taken into account.
