Insights Into the Antigenic Repertoire of Unclassified Synaptic Antibodies
ABSTRACT Objective We sought to characterize the sixth most common finding in our neuroimmunological laboratory practice (tissue assay‐observed unclassified neural antibodies [UNAs]), combining protein microarray and phage immunoprecipitation sequencing (PhIP‐Seq). Methods Patient specimens (258; 133 serums; 125 CSF) meeting UNA criteria were profiled;

Common variations in ALG9 are not associated with bipolar I disorder: A family-based study [PDF]
Background: A mannosyltransferase gene (ALG9, DIBD I) at chromosome band 11q23 was previously identified to be disrupted by a balanced chromosomal translocation t(9; 11)(p24;q23) co-segregating with bipolar affective disorder in a small family.

Liquid Crystal Elastomers Under Confinement: A Review of Template‐Based Fabrication and Applications
Template‐assisted confinement offers powerful ways to control the alignment, structure, and function of liquid crystal elastomers. This review highlights several templating strategies and details how geometry and interfaces shape material responses.

Disturbances of visual motion perception in bipolar disorder [PDF]
OBJECTIVES: While cognitive deficits have been well documented in patients with bipolar disorder, visual perception has been less well characterized. Such deficits appear in schizophrenia, which shares genetic risk factors with bipolar disorder, and may ...

Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Comparing Youth With Bipolar Disorder to Non-Bipolar Youth Referred for Bipolar Disorder
Objective: Bipolar disorder (BD) diagnoses require episodes of hypomania and mania as well as depressive episodes. Given the overlap of BD symptoms with symptoms of other psychiatric conditions among youth, misdiagnosis is common. This topic was examined

Epidemiology and risk factors for bipolar disorder [PDF]
Bipolar disorder is a multifactorial illness with uncertain aetiology. Knowledge of potential risk factors enables clinicians to identify patients who are more likely to develop bipolar disorder, which directs further investigation, follow up and caution

Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.
