tBid‐Mediated Genetic Ablation of Connective Tissue Cells Reveals Their Key Regulatory Function During Limb Regeneration in Axolotls

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We establish a tBid‐mediated cell ablation system in axolotls, achieve rapid and efficient ablation of multiple cell types, including muscle stem cell, spinal cord cell, and connective tissue (CT) cells. We investigate the role of CT using tBid‐mediated CT ablation and identify its essential role for limb development and regeneration.

Performance improvement of graphite/phenolic resin composite bipolar plates for PEMFCs using carbon-fenced AgNWs

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society
Increasing efforts are being made to improve the overall performance of composite bipolar plates for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) through efficient three-dimensional (3D) conductive networks, including metallic fibers and foams. Herein, we

Mass‐Transport–Engineered CCM Architecture Employing MPL‐Free Carbon Paper and Graphene‐Coated Ni Foam Channels for High‐Temperature PEM Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A CCM‐based architectural strategy is introduced for high‐temperature PEM fuel cells, enabling MPL‐free carbon paper gas diffusion layers via decal‐transfer processing. By co‐engineering the CCM, GDL, and a G‐foam flow field, oxygen transport is enhanced while phosphoric‐acid leakage is suppressed, resulting in high power density and stable operation ...

The progress on the surface treatments of metal bipolar plate for Proton exchange fuel cells in DICP

open access: yes, 2009
Bipolar plate is a key component in proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). It functions as the current conductor between cells, provides the manifold for reactant gases flow, and constitutes the backbone of a fuel cell stack. The requirements for

Chromium nitride films on stainless steel as bipolar plate for proton exchange membrane fuel cell

open access: yes, 2009
A series of chromium nitride films are prepared on stainless steel substrates by pulsed bias arc ion plating (PBAIP) at different N(2) flow rate as bipolar plates for proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC).

Electrohydraulic Folding Ring Actuators for Radially Contracting Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents an Electrohydraulic Folding Ring Actuator that combines high‐performance electrohydraulic actuation with origami‐inspired folding geometry to achieve constricting radial actuation. This integration yields significant inner lumen constriction, alongside a gripping force capable of holding objects exceeding four times the actuator's ...

Asymmetric Electrostrain/Electrobending in Piezoelectric Ceramics: Role of Defect Dipoles or Oxygen Vacancies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Defect‐configurational origins of the asymmetric apparent electrostrain are revealed in different piezoelectric ceramics via atomic‐scale visualization of defect configurations. Migration of oxygen vacancies leads to the electrobending effect in N2‐sintered BaTiO3, while defect dipoles in Ba0.99TiO2.99 generate true asymmetric electrostrain without ...

Niobium Sputter Coated Stainless Steel as a Bipolar Plate Material for Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell Stacks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2011
Niobium (Nb) sputter coated 316L stainless steel (SS) is investigated as an alternative to a previously developed Nb clad 304L SS material for use in a bipolar plate component of a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) stack. The electrochemical

Recent progress of porous metal filed in bipolar plate

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2020
Porous metal is a material that combines both structural and functional properties. It is widely used in various fields due to its low density, high porosity and controlled permeability. In this paper, the application progress of porous metal on the flow
