Optokinetic stimulation modulates vestibular contribution to postural control

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Healthy young adults completed repeated standing balance trials while receiving stochastic vestibular stimulation (SVS) with or without optokinetic visual motion. Vestibular contributions to postural control were quantified from the frequency‐domain coupling between SVS and mediolateral ground reaction forces using coherence and ...

Model Adjustments and Solver Construction for Galvanic Cells Based on NPP‐Systems

open access: yesProceedings in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Volume 26, Issue 4, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Electroplated coatings on metallic substrates have a wide range of practical applications ranging from corrosion or wear protection on parts, good conductivity on electrical contacts to coating systems for bipolar plates in fuel cells. The large field of applications in electrochemical engineering motivates several questions for scientific ...

Analytical Metrics for Quality Assessment of Vanadium Electrolytes in Vanadium Flow Batteries: A Case Study

open access: yesEnergy Storage, Volume 8, Issue 6, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This case study investigates practical approaches for evaluating commercially available vanadium electrolytes (VEL) for vanadium flow battery applications. From the perspective of a potential electrolyte customer, a range of wet chemical and instrumental analytical methods was applied to characterize commercial electrolyte samples obtained ...

Clinical Rationale for Procedural Steps When Performing Non‐Incisional Nail Surgery: A Scoping Review

open access: yesJournal of Foot and Ankle Research, Volume 19, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Non‐incisional nail surgery is a common surgical procedure performed by clinicians, however, there is considerable variation relating to decision‐making for procedure choice, surgical technique, and clinical rationale to inform practice.

Sleep Deprivation and Neuronal Hyperexcitation Share Transcriptomic Signatures

open access: yesNeuropsychopharmacology Reports, Volume 46, Issue 3, September 2026.
This study demonstrated that sleep deprivation induces transcriptomic changes in mice and rats similar to those observed in various models of neuronal hyperexcitation. These findings suggest a potential link between sleep deprivation and neuropsychiatric disorders.

Effects of Topical Administration of Bupivacaine HCl to the Ovarian Pedicle on Postoperative Pain, Antioxidant Enzyme Activity and Inflammatory Cytokines in Dogs Undergoing Laparoscopic Ovariectomy

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
Topical bupivacaine HCl applied to the ovarian pedicle during laparoscopic ovariectomy in dogs significantly reduced early postoperative UMPS pain scores and modulated antioxidant enzyme activity (SOD, CAT). However, systemic pro‐inflammatory cytokine levels (IL‐1β, IL‐6 and TNF‐α) remained unchanged between groups.

Slit2/Robo Signaling Restores Diabetic Erectile Function via Neurovascular Remodeling

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 6, Page 1831-1846, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Diabetes mellitus‐induced erectile dysfunction (DMED) is a common and debilitating vascular‐neurogenic complication of diabetes. The poor responsiveness of DMED patients to phosphodiesterase type‐5 inhibitors underscores the need for therapies capable of restoring both endothelial integrity and cavernous nerve function.
