Progression and prognostic significance of electrocardiographic findings in patients with cardiac amyloidosis

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 809-818, April 2025.
Abstract Aims This study aimed to evaluate the change of the main electrocardiographic (ECG) characteristics and their prognostic role across the main subtypes of cardiac amyloidosis [light‐chain amyloidosis (AL) and hereditary (ATTRv) and wild‐type transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTRwt)].

Mechanophores for Mechano‐Imaging in Polymeric Materials

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
Mechanophore‐based mechanochromic systems convert mechanical forces in polymers into optical signals, enabling direct imaging of stress localization and molecular damage. This perspective highlights recent advances in mechanophore design and their use to probe local mechanics across diverse polymer matrices, and concludes by outlining opportunities for

Research progress on the use of the optical coherence tomography system for the diagnosis and treatment of central nervous system tumors

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 3-18, Spring 2025.
With the advantages of high‐resolution imaging, efficient image acquisition, intraoperative real‐time detection, and radiation‐free and noninvasive characteristics, optical coherence tomography (OCT) provides accurate diagnosis and effective intraoperative guidance for the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of central nervous system (CNS ...

Positive and Negative Contribution from Lead–Oxygen Groups and Halogen Atoms to Birefringence: A First Principles Investigation

open access: yes
Oxyhalides, containing oxygen and halogen atoms and combining the advantages of oxides and halides in geometry and optical response, have great potential in optical materials.

Designing chiral organic small molecules for circularly polarized light detection via group theory

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
The chiral point group determines the arrangement of the μ‐m of chiral organic small molecules, thereby influencing their chiral photoelectric properties. In particular, chiral molecules with the D2 point group can effectively align the μ‐m to be either 0° or 180°, an effective strategy for high‐performance circularly polarized light photodetectors ...

以偏振敏感的光學同調斷 層掃描術來測量高膽固醇血症老鼠之肝臟組織雙折射

open access: yes, 2011
We measure in vitro tissue birefringence in the liver of hypercholesterolemic rats with polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography. Tissue birefringence is determined by measuring the phase retardation as a function of tissue depth.

Estradiol replacement attenuates alendronate‐associated adverse effects on alveolar bone repair in ovariectomized rats

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Sodium alendronate (ALN) is widely used to treat postmenopausal osteoporosis, but both estrogen deficiency and antiresorptive therapy may impair alveolar bone repair after tooth extraction. A clinically relevant but insufficiently explored scenario involves estrogen‐deficient individuals receiving hormone replacement therapy (HRT ...

Age‐related local versus systemic early phase wound healing dynamics following free gingival graft harvest

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Free palatal gingival grafts (FGG) are commonly harvested during mucogingival procedures. The present study investigates age‐related local and systemic early secondary wound healing outcomes, following FGG harvest in a rat model. Methods A 4.2 mm diameter defect was created in the palate of 24 younger (2 m) and 24 older (6 m) Wistar

Optical Kerr Gating as a Strategy for Noise Reduction in Femtosecond Stimulated Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
We report an experimental approach, where an Optical Kerr gate is incorporated with Femtosecond Stimulated Raman Spectrometry (FSRS). The gate functions as a temporal filter that preferentially suppresses the FSRS inherent background. FSRS spectra are reported with the Kerr‐gated methodology with significantly improved SNR compared to the conventional ...

Raman Bands of Malto‐ and Isomalto‐Oligosaccharides as Models for Starch

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
The present study measured Raman spectra of malto‐ and isomalto‐oligosaccharides with various degree of polymerization as models for starch. The data suggest that malto‐oligosaccharides with degree of polymerization ≥ 5 exhibit Raman bands similar to those of starch.
