Effective Absorption Cross Sections of Defects in High Pressure High Temperature Diamond Studied by Modulated Surface Photovoltage Spectroscopy

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), EarlyView.
Effective absorption cross sections of defects in high pressure high temperature diamond samples are extracted by a fitting procedure of rather complex modulated surface photovoltage (SPV) spectra and up to ten defect transitions are distinguished over the entire bandgap of diamond. This general approach of SPV analysis broadens the analysis of defects

Wafer Scale N‐Doped Diamond (111) with Mainly Nitrogen Spin Bath Limited Nitrogen Vacancy Coherence Times from Heteroepitexial Growth

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, EarlyView.
Diamond is grown heteroepitaxially on Ir/YSZ/Si(111) wafers with a diameter of 50.8 mm. The film received a nitrogen‐doped cap. Here you see a micrograph of the cleaving edge of such N‐doped heterodiamond aligned with a photoluminescence map of the nitrogen vacancy NV0/NV− charge ratio.

Low‐Loss Polarization‐Maintaining Router for Single and Entangled Photons at a Telecom Wavelength

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
A novel electro‐optic routing of arbitrarily polarized single photons and, crucially, multi‐photon entangled states is demonstrated. Utilizing optics with near‐normal incidence and cross‐aligned electro‐optic crystals, low‐loss polarization‐maintaining routing is achieved with a minimal number of components.

Electroactuated liquid crystal polymers

open access: yesResponsive Materials, EarlyView.
Electroactuated liquid crystal polymers exhibit corresponding deformations under electrical stimulation, and electroactive deformations can be controlled by adjusting electrical parameters. This review introduces classification, mechanisms, characteristics, and applications, and looks forward to their potential development directions.

Engineering stimuli‐responsive shape‐morphing through high‐resolution 4D printing

open access: yesResponsive Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes recent progress in high‐resolution 4D printing with smart materials and micro/nanoscale techniques. It covers actuation strategies, key applications, and future challenges for scalable, precise shape‐morphing systems. Abstract 4D printing extends conventional additive manufacturing (AM) by enabling dynamic shape‐morphing ...
