The photoinduced birefringence behaviors of host–guest systems based on heterocyclic thiazole–azo dyes with different substituents, dispersed into PMMA matrix, were investigated under three excitation wavelengths, i.e., 405 nm, 445 nm or 532 nm.

Viscoelasticity and Birefringence of Low Birefringent Polyesters [PDF]
Dynamic viscoelasticity and dynamic birefringence were investigated for a series of polyesters with various combinations of dimethyl decalin 2,6-carboxylate, DMHN and dimethyl terephthalate, DMT as acid component and 9,9-bis[4-(2-hydroxy-ethoxy)phenyl]fluorene, BPEF and ethylene glycol, EG as diol component.

This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of

Multiple designs with broad applicability for enhancing birefringence in low-loss terahertz HC-ARF
The use of hollow-core anti-resonant fiber (HC-ARF) as a transmission medium for the terahertz (THz) frequency range is attracting increasing attention from researchers. This paper introduces a low-loss, high birefringence anti-resonant fiber.

Most matter is nominally frozen in the polar regions or space, and liquid crystal materials are no exception. Consequently, soft actuators, including liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs), are inoperative under such extreme cold in response to stimuli, as their motion relies on mechanical deformation.

Anisometric carbon nanodots are synthesized directly from a liquid crystal precursor and embedded into polymer network liquid crystals to create soft, multifunctional photonic films. These hybrid devices exhibit polarized photoluminescence, broad UV absorption, and fast, electrically tunable light modulation.

GeAl2‐2xFe2xO3(OH)4 Nanotubes: New Electrocatalyst for Oxygen Evolution Reaction
Fe‐doped imogolite nanotubes are synthesized via a one‐step hydrothermal method with varying Fe substitution ratios x. Structural and spectroscopic analyses confirm homogeneous Fe incorporation while preserving tubular shape. Optimal doping at x = 0.05 enhances optical absorption, narrows band gap, reduces charge transfer resistance, and significantly ...
