An atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of phosphorus in foodstuffs using the bismuth phosphomolybdate complex [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2000
A new indirect AAS method using the bismuth phosphomolybdate complex for the determination of phosphorus in foodstuffs is suggested. The bismuth phosphomolybdate complex in acid medium was extacted with isobutyl methylketone and the phosphorus was determined through bismuth in an air/acetylene flame by utilising the 223.06 nm resonance line

Spectrophotometric determination of phosphorus in coal and coal ash using bismuth-phosphomobybdate complex [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2003
A modified spectrophotometric method using the bismuth phosphomolybdate complex for the determination of phosphorus in coal and coal ash is suggested. Bismuth together with phosphate and molybdate forms a very stable complex in acid medium which turns blue ("molibdenum blue") by reduction with ascorbic acid.

Formation Mechanism of a Nano-Ring of Bismuth Cations and Mono-Lacunary Keggin-Type Phosphomolybdate. [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry, 2022
Formation of a tetrameric heteropolyoxometalate ring of bismuth‐containing lacunary phosphomolybdate clusters. Abstract A new hetero‐bimetallic polyoxometalate (POM) nano‐ring was synthesized in a one‐pot procedure. The structure consists of tetrameric units containing four bismuth‐substituted monolacunary Keggin anions including distorted [BiO8] cubes.

Charge Makes a Difference: Molecular Ionic Bismuth Compounds [PDF]

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 135, Issue 24, June 12, 2023., 2023
Charged molecular bismuth species encompass cationic and anionic complexes with organic and inorganic ligand spheres as well as ligand‐free molecular clusters. This review provides an overview of their syntheses, structures, and bonding modes. It outlines how the heavy metal bismuth, with its capability of forming non‐toxic compounds, can be understood

Biochemical Characterization of Different Chemical Components of Parthenium hysterophorus and Their Therapeutic Potential against HIV-1 RT and Microbial Growth. [PDF]

open access: yesBiomed Res Int, 2022
Parthenium hysterophorus possesses certain allelochemicals responsible for their medicinal effects. The presence of oils, polyphenols, alkaloids, terpenes, pseudoguaianolides, and histamines in P. hysterophorus has been shown to exhibit medicinal properties. However, the systematic biomedical properties of this plant are still unexplored.

Excavating the Potential of Photo- and Electroupcycling Platforms Toward a Sustainable Future for Waste Plastics. [PDF]

open access: yesSmall Sci
This article reviews innovative methods to break down plastic waste using light and electrical energy, emphasizing the creation of high‐value chemicals rather than simply disposing of the waste. By optimizing degradation processes through rational design and catalysts, one can efficiently and selectively access target products using similar principles ...

Comparative functional and structural analysis of Pseudomonas aeruginosa d‐alanine–d‐alanine ligase isoforms as prospective antibiotic targets

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 290, Issue 23, Page 5536-5553, December 2023., 2023
Disruption of cell wall biosynthesis through inhibition of d‐alanine–d‐alanine biosynthesis is a potential avenue for the development of new antibiotics effective against drug‐resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Here, we characterise the function and structure of the two P.

γ‐Valerolactone as Sustainable and Low‐Toxic Solvent for Electrical Double Layer Capacitors

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 9, 2023., 2023
Sustainable solvent: The concept of using solvent γ‐valerolactone (GVL) derived from sustainable feedstocks as electrolyte component in electrical double layer capacitors (EDLCs) is implementable. GVL‐based electrolytes, with an operating voltage of 2.7–2.9 V, present high capacitance retention and good specific energy as well as power in EDLCs ...
