Combustion technique synthesis of lead-free piezoelectric bismuth sodium titanate-bismuth potassium titanate–barium titanate ceramics

Integrated Ferroelectrics, 2016
ABSTRACTFabrication of lead-free piezoelectric ceramic bismuth sodium titanate–bismuth potassium titanate–barium titanate, focusing on the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) between the rhombohedral and tetragonal phases was studied. a[0.935(Bi0.5Na0.5)TiO3-0.065BaTiO3]-(1-a)[0.8(Bi0.5Na0.5)TiO3-0.2(Bi0.5K0.5)TiO3]; BNBK ceramics with 0 ≤ a ≤ 1 were ...

High Field Electroformation of Sodium Bismuth Titanate

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2020
Lead-free ceramics based on Na1/2Bi1/2TiO3 (NBT) have been shown to exhibit excellent ferroelectric properties putting them amongst the best materials to replace lead-based piezoelectrics. The defect chemistry of NBT is, however, very complex. High oxygen ionic conductivity can be induced by acceptor doping or bismuth evaporation, which is quite ...

Hydrothermal Synthesis of Sodium Bismuth Titanate Ferroelectrics

Inorganic Materials, 2020
We have studied phase formation processes during sodium bismuth titanate, Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 (NBT), synthesis under hydrothermal conditions at a temperature of 230°C for 24 and 48 h using stoichiometric mixtures of titanium oxide and bismuth hydroxide and NaOH solutions in the concentration range 5–30 M.

Processing and properties of translucent bismuth sodium titanate ceramics

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2021
Lead-free bismuth sodium titanate piezoceramics were processed by a solid-state route with a novel precursor approach. By carefully controlling the processing parameters and sintering atmospheres, translucent ceramics with pore-free, homogeneous microstructures with exceptionally low dielectric loss at elevated temperatures.

Preparation and Properties of Lead Free Bismuth Sodium Titanate−Bismuth Zinc Titanate Ceramics

Ferroelectrics, 2009
Lead-free piezoelectric ceramics based on (1–x)Bi 1/2 Na 1/2 TiO 3 – x Bi(Zn 1/2 Ti 1/2 )O 3 (x = 0.0, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40, and 0.5) were obtained via solid-state processing techniques. The influence of BZT addition on BNT characteristics, sintering, microstructure and properties was investigated.
